The weapon moddability, and settlement construction are a beast in fallout 4, you can even get supplies though only water has effective returns. Which then make vendors actually useful.
The turrets are kinda pointless since they don't defend settlements while you're away on missions. IMO settlement defenses shouldn't fail because you're away but wait until the player returns, or instead you ought to be able to send your own minute men to defend settlements while you're away.
There's too much on the player's back at one time for you to get out of the institute to defend some random bluff far away while things are blowing up around you.
After playing New Vegas for the first time post-FO4 the graphics disparity is arresting. For me New Vegas has went from an average looking game to an outdated one, it's still my favorite game in the series and of all time, but it now has the wrinkles to match its wisdom.
I wouldn't be against a facelift...presuming some studio like bluepoint would be payed to port & up-res it.
The Call of Duty - United Offensive feeling <3333
Running around with my rifle all day, every day. :3
For me the new Power Armor. It make me feel im actually a BoS
I love the short sequences they do now. I just did the lift ride where you find Strong, and that was a really nice touch on their part.
People say the world feels empty, but here I am finding little tidbits literally everywhere.
Codsworth and his humor. I know he's not the strongest companion, but after 50 hours of gameplay I won't go anywhere without him. He's my best pal, and he cracks me up with his random one liners.
If you check the Nexus they already have all of that in the game. Which is why we see it in Fallout 4 everything you see in fallout 4 basically came from New Vegas and Skyrim mods after all.
Is there anyway to force a studio like Bluepoint to raise a kickstarter for a next-gen New Vegas?
Here are my top features of Fallout 4.
1. Ambient Weapon sounds: In FO3 or FO:NV there was almost always the sound of gunfire whether a gun fight was going on or not. In FO4 when there is sound of gunfire then you know there is a gunfight going on and it is not a ambiance filler, per se.
2. In-game Weapon or Armor Mods: There are a ton of mods for each different weapon and armor. I've got 148 hours in FO4 and I'm still acquiring weapon/armor upgrades. It makes me very happy to have so many options.
3. Enemy Movement: When I first witnessed a Deathclaw move it was a sight to behold. So fluid and seemingly real. Even though I was on the verge of messing my shorts trying to kill the beast I was in awe at how it moved and acted. The DC used whatever maneuver it could to get out of the way of the barrage of lead heading its way while still moving forward in an attempt to put the smack-down on me.
4. Armor and Clothing in General: I'm a collector, as many are, of different types of armor/clothing just to say I have at least one of them all. Even though I've got a ton of hours into FO4 I keep finding clothing that I haven't seen before.
5. Looting: Being able to, at a glance, see what an NPC or container has is refreshing. We don't have to 'open' the NPC or container to see what they/it contains inside.
6. Legendaries: For the first time in the Fallout series I feel the greater majority of legendary weapons, armor and such are actually useful in-game. I really like how Bethesda to the time to differentiate the Legendaries from any standard or modified weapon with feature(s) that actually made them stand-out from the crowd.
OHHHHHH yeah something i never notice. Till i turn off the radio, OMG THE MUSIC is excellent. each zone have a music each situation or enemies have a music. i was going crazy and that make me not turn on the radio again
This. The one thing I HATED about Fallout 3 was that you were pretty much forced into the subway tunnels to get anywhere downtown. You couldn't go more than one square block in any direction downtown without rubble or other obstructions blocking your way. For an open world game it felt very forced as to how to get from point A to B. Now in Fallout 4, you have options. The town is open, the the subway tunnels are still there giving you the choice as to how you want to travel. Hell, you can even take the elevated highways for decent stretches of the map.
YES!! The ambient/world music is AMAZING! I don't even listen to the Pip-Boy radio stations at all, cuts into the surrounding ambiance. I agree with most of you on here.
Here are my points:
1. The ambient world music is GREAT!
2. Character customization is far superior than any other Fallout's or Elder Scrolls; reminds me of Eve Online's character customization. It's awesome.
3. Of course I have to list settlement building. Totally doesn't take away from the experience for me. Gives me something new to look forward to every time I play. My ONLY complaint is there isn't enough to choose from. I would like to see, maybe even a stand-alone DLC pack, more choices for furniture and miscellaneous decorations. All my houses are looking the same inside.
4. Weapon/Armour mods for days!
5. Hovering over containers/bodies to pick up loot! No more long hours of searching through lockers!
6. Armour layering, awesome idea!
my list is basically like everyone else's; modding, power armor, the graphics, so i'll point out one of the little things I love: the fact that your character makes comments after taking certain drugs, and how your character's greetings to other people change after drinking alcohol.
Even with some of the frustration of the little glitches, the settlements are one of my favorite additions.
My favorite touches are still the little stories in the game. finding a distress beacon transmission to follow it's story, or little notes left from previous inhabitants of buildings or perhaps bodies left in places that tell a story. Those little things always intrigue me most.
I love that you can finally jump out of water! No longer wasting time swimming around to find a way out of the water if I fall in on accident... I'll just jump right out and back onto land!
So many improvements in this vain. Ability to turn and jump while sprinting is awesome too.
I really like what they did with side-quests and how they can branch off depending on what you do.
