Ok so if your like me and you have boone in your party and you cant figure out why the frick you cant start his story up, its because an important thing to do is go to bittersprings first and ask about what happened there with the lady. If your like me i went and did all this big crap, like killing ceaser and i still couldnt do it. So i finally went to bitter springs, did all the quest there and talked to the lady about it, and then boones speech option for bitter springs poped up. Just so other people dont make the same mistake as me.

Normally, when you get to the point where he'll talk to you about his past, he'll ask to go to Bitter Springs. So it's not like a trick, where you have to go there or you'll never get started.

didn't work for me on the two chars that use boone as a companion, so id figure id pass along my knowledge

I always head to Bittersprings after I get the quest, never before.

I always seems to get the quest when I have 7 points and not 5.

I also might be because you need to be at a certain reputation level with NCR first.

But in the 4 play through I always got the Quest.

i am yet to have the dam quest after good rep with NCR and i am lvl 20...done all the questing at Bitter...can anyone suggest anything?

Did you already talk to him about his wife?

The way I usually get the Quest line is

1) Get him first thing

2) Goto Lipton Kill the Legion Commander

3) Save the Powder Gangers

This will unlock his wife's information

4) Go save the Troops at Boulder CIty

5) Go save the hostages at Nelson

This usually is enough to get me his quest

If not, I goto McCarren and do the bounty hunting and I put a spell on you (and execute the traitor when I finish listening to the conversation)

This will certainly get you the quest.

and i didnt kill at nipton...saved nelson...and slaughtered the powder gangers. but ceaser hates me so i always fight legion..and yes we had a chat about his wife for like the third time now

Then your Quest is bugged. He only ever talk about his wife once. The conversation option is on the first page. I don't remember if you can talk to him about it agian if you dig in the conversation tree (e.g. "I want to ask a question about you"), but the option to talk about his wife without going through any sub conversation menu only happens once.

Bounty Hunting is at Camp McCarren. If you talk go the Sergent (or was it Major) that walks around the primiter. He will ask you to take out Fiend Leaders (Cook-Cook, Violet, and Driver Delphi).

dam i wanted to do boons quest...he told me about blasting his wife and all...and wouldnt talk about bitter springs...ive been with him the entire game and yet he wont give me the quest..

sooo, i did the math and have enough history points. talked to him about bitter spring and how his life was over blah blah. but stil no quest...?

Wait he told you about Bitter Springs? (Not his wife) but bitter springs?

If so then you are good.

Just walk around for a while and he will approach you himself and start the conversation. He will say he been thinking about it alot and wnat to go back, you said OK lets go. And you will get the quest.

haha well im glad that is up...but now he is [censored] gone haha, i fasted it to novac and turned around and boone was gone, WTF man. he isnt allowed to just run off....its my game :'(
