Is all training like this?

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 8:20 pm

I stumbled upon a woman living in a shack high up a mountain range. Drove me nuts seeing a black house symbol so close, but on the opposite side of seemingly impassible mountains. Anyway, to the point: I didn't know what to expect, but she ended up offering me archery training (after telling me her story). She then proceeded to lead me down to some targets and gave me insights on proper form. Then she told me to shoot targets in a certain order. Eventually it was timed, tougher, etc. Is all training like this? It's much more immersive. I've been avoiding training so far because I don't like spending so much money on (what was in Oblivion) just a menu screen followed by an increase in numbers.

I found her as well. Earned about 5 archery skill points for free, but it was very fun and actually useful.
I haven't found any other characters who offer such interactive training for other things, unfortunately. :( The others you just pay and you magically acquire a skill point.

Yep it was actually fun to do and more realistic that you learn something that way.... I wish they would've done all trainers in this style...

She is the only one I've come across that doesn't just go to the pay-to-train screen so far. I believe you can also marry her, so it may be possible to get free training up to whatever her max is.

Pretty cool thing to find while out exploring.
