SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHY ROCKET SCIENCE IS REQUIRED TO DO THIS?

I have 4 HUGE Fraps Videos that are 4gigs in size(fraps does that), and I want to reduce them to a size that I can upload to youtube.

The method to this is not me-friendly, not obvious at least.

So what do I have to do, to do something that shouldn't be ridiculously difficult?

I don't care about quality loss, as long as the frame rate is tolerable, they are just videos demonstrating the content of my mod.

I've tried Windows Movie Maker which destroys the frame rate(moving at like 2 FPS) and doesn't decrease the size enough(about 600mb)

I've tried Avidemux, you gotta go half way around the galaxy with this program and I end up no good results.

Get http://handbrake.fr/ and convert them into MP4 format. That should decrease the file size to hundreds of MB.

Though i've no idea about Youtube's size limits. Still, in my experience, that's the best way to get smaller video files.

Youtube has a reasonable size limit but the bigger they are, the LONGER the upload takes.
