Uhm... has Beth ever released DLC's within the first 2 months of release? I don't remember any. I would assume they're more worried about fixing bugs that releasing DLC's.

releasing DLC at this point would not be a good business plan. the demand needs to fall.
Well,
Fallout New Vegas was released on 19 October 2010, and Dead Money came out 21 Dec 10. (2 months) Yes, I know Obsidian and all...
Fallout 3 was released on 28 Oct 2008, and Anchorage came out on 27 Jan 09. (3 months)
In the case of FO3, all 5 DLCs were released between Jan and Aug of 09--8 months/5 story DLCs. Bottom line all DLC was released within 10 months of game release, averaging one release every 2 months.
In the case of NV, 4 story DLCs and 5 Item Packs were released between Dec 2010 and Sep 2011 (11 months). Now 4 of those item packs were available at preorder. Gunrunner's Arsenal was released only a week after Lonesome Road, but still 5 issues averaging just over 2 months in between each release. The longest wait was for Old World Blues, but it was easily the heaviest content of any FO DLC ever, and played almost like a standalone game.
I think folks tend to forget, or overlook, how aggressive the DLCs are handled for Fallout, as compared to the "norm" of only 2 big DLCs for ES games....and to me, most of the FO DLCs are very noteworthy and extraordinarily heavy in content.
I want Todd to stuff my stocking with the Skyrim remaster...they made for Xbox One it to practice for Fallout 4 but he's holding out on us.
...i just need the GECK. You can make ur own DLC'S and you can Patch the Game. Power to the People
Yeah the free updates are a good thing that came from Skyrim.
Also it's worth pointing out that Fallout DLC isn't always smaller than TES. Point Lookout was probably almost as big as Solsteim. And Big MT was pretty big, come to think of it, there have been a few really big DLC's for Fallout.
More base weapon variations would be a great addition to the game.
It doesn't matter if people have moved on to other games. Once the DLC comes out, people will be back.
Do you have anything to back this up? By that I mean proof that people didn't come back for Oblivion, Fallout 3, New Vegas and Skyrim?
Maybe that happens to other games, but I am sure this doesn't happen to Bethesda games. I am usually not a betting man, but I would bet your the "large portion of the community" will have moved on to another game but will be back when the DLC comes out.
GECK first, then DLC. Yeah, I'm selfish that way.
You already can play Skyrim on your Xbox One. While it's not a remaster, just put your 360 through the Xbox One TV port.
Seriously now, I wonder how this GECK is going to work this time. Will it be PC only or PC only but able to port to consoles. or GECK will be able to use for both PC and consoles and people will complain that they can't do much with GECK because of consoles GECK.
I don't think people are going to get to 'create' mods for consoles, Bethesda will probably hand pick pre-approved mods from trusted modders and upload them themselves, then you will access the mods actually in-game. At least that is how TH made it sound like they were going to do it. We won't get all mods on consoles, nothing 'rude' or subject to copyright will be on consoles, so no flying around in an Iron Man Suit or anything like that. So essentially mods will be made the same way they always have.
So the answer to your question is no, PC mods will not be affected or held back by the console mods in any way.
