Allow us to create a race please...

no, no i'm not talking about creating a brand new race but to choose what different races blood we have. For example I have always role played as a half nord half breton. and id love the ability to choose our bloodlines which would also make it seem more realistic. what do you guys think?

This actually sounds pretty cool. Don't think it'll happen this time around but I'd like to see this too.

Best chance is to get the PC version and make a mixed race with the creation kit.

Wouldn't work well with beast races or orcs, but you could make it work for any human or elf race.

I totally support this
Would it mean that we get mixed/altered racials as well?

Make a mod, or role-play it. I'm playing a Nede. I don't care if the race says Nord/imperial/Breton my character is a Nede who washed ashore twenty, or so, years ago.

Btw: mixes take to appearance of their mothers.

Female Bosmer + male Nord= Bosmer baby

It has been stated that hybrids look like their mother's race, only with some features from their fathers (for every race except Argonians are Khajiits, who cannot have children with elves or humans). So you have always been able to make your character a hybrid.

If you want to create a nordic breton, make a breton, and focus on strength and endurance, or something like that.

Also, it's unrealistic to have a half-X half-Y in TES. In reality, it's more realistic, in TES, to have the offspring be the mother's race, with VERY subtle attributes from daddy (if they even do show up).

I don't really know how things like racial bonuses are decided when it comes to someone who is half-something half-something-else. Since, physically, they take after the mother, I imagine racial bonuses would fall in line too. I don't think evolution exists at all in TES, so it wouldn't really make sense for their to be a child with racial bonuses of two different races like that.

I would not doubt for a second that a Dark Elf and a Imperial did it. Now that I think of it, wouldn't it be WEIRD to NOT have hybrids? Is there some law in Tamriel where races can't have inter racial intercourse?

There are, but they usually take after their mothers.

We have already seen hybrids. Darn, don't you remember Agronak? He was an orc with fair skin.

Come on, guys! Read up before blindly responding to this. Beth already made a book, in-game no less, that pretty much states that beth won't be having hybrid races. If you want one, make it look like a hybrid using face and body gen.

To put it shortly, the offspring between two races will take after the mother in nearly every respect, with VERY subtle daddy traits (may not even really be present). The Grey Prince is special, only due to the fact that daddy was a vampire.

Hey emmm... eh... "Beth already made a book, in-game no less, that pretty much states that beth won't be having hybrid races." Aren't Bretons half altmer half nord?..

Yes, the bretons are halfies, with aldmer and nedic blood. However, that took centuries of closed environment breeding between the aldmer and nedics.

I was about to  when I clicked this thread, but after reading the op it's defiantly a neat idea, even though it will probably never happen.

It would just be a waste of development time imo, we can already modify our faces and skin tone, the rest should be up to the imagination.

Why do you need mods? Can't you just use your imagination and pretend your character is a mix? It seems like a big waste of resources for Bethesda to add a feature that you could easily role play in your head.

In Elder Scrolls lore there are no hybrids, everyone takes on their mother's race.

I would love to be able to sort of mix and match the different races, and to have it affect your character in different ways, depending upon which races you choose. Even with the whole taking on the mother's race thing, there would have to be some variations... Like a Redguard and an elf--maybe they would look like an elf but with a darker skin tone.

Then make an elf with a darker skin tone.

[censored], I made a dunmer with green skin once (mainly for the laughs)
