I'm almost done with New Vegas

Post » Mon Mar 29, 2010 9:59 am

Just as the title says, I've done everything there is to do in New Vegas, many times. I've been a Legion assassin, a hired gun for the NCR, a Legion Frumentarii that worked for the NCR and deliberately failed, a lone wolf that took over New Vegas, and even Mr. Houses estranged son (that one took some imagination), but every time I start over, I realize that I'm always going to be doing the same thing.

Before I thought that DLC would make the game fresh and new, but now I realize that it won't. Partly this is because the DLCs probably won't modify the actual Wasteland, they'll just create a fancy new map to play around in for five hours and then say "Sorry, you can't come back". Even if there's great writing, a great story, and great gameplay, I'm just going to be spit right back out into the Mojave with a shiny new gun.

Anyways, maybe I'm extra mopey because I'm waiting for the new content to be announced, but I know there are people who feel the same way (note all the "Wat duz I doo nau?" threads)

Yah play F3 or the originals. FNV isnt getting anymore lively as it is right now. So just wait till the new dlc comes out and hopefully its gonna be dealing with the Mojave...

If you are on PC then may I suggest adding some mods, since they always add some life to the game. Plus they modify the base game unlike dead money

I grew bored of the game in January unfortunately, the new DLC's will really have to be something special to wet my appetite again. Strangely however I find myself still playing FO3 on occasion, I by no means think it is a better game then FONV it just seems to hold my attention more for some reason.

Been there for about the last month or so now. Perhaps if there were more interesting things to do in the Mojave Wasteland it'd be different, but I just don't see that happening. It's a shame too, because otherwise New Vegas is a pretty good game.

EDIT: @ OP: If you are already getting bored with the game, then I'm sorry to say that mods won't add much more play time for you.

FYI: I am currently running 110 mods for New Vegas and they haven't helped enough to keep me playing.

as my name states.... i feel ripped off. i have never had a game freeze on me as much as this did. very, very, very disappointed!
i shelled out good money for a game that doesn't work. i don't think i'll be buying another installment of this game.

It does works , but not all of us have the same luck, I personally dont have freezes and crashes since the second patch

But sorry if this wasnt the thing like you want, I feel the same way with other games like Falllout 3, Mass Effect 2, Fable 3

I love Dead Money, probably one of my favorites next to Point Lookout, but I don't like going back to the Mojave and nothing happens there. The only way you can change the Mojave is drastic and extreme, and isn't permanent. :/

I think that it might be worth getting the DLCs just for the story and gameplay, you don't have to play at all outside of them, you know.

Are you actually joking??

Broken Steel made me fall in love with the BOS and the FO Games. That 1 DLC made Fallout 3 for me.

And it completely threw consequences for your choices out the window.

I agree, In Fallout 3's original endings for putting the Modified FEV, the Enclave could rise to dominance in the future, but with Broken Steel, it pretty much rail roads you into being a white knight. All the good stuff is done in detail, but for the evil people who put the FEV in the water, all that happens are a few people put in the hospitals, nothing more. I feel like evil players got gipped, I'm glad I play the white knight xD

Are you serious ?

Broken steel made me hate fallout 3, that 1 dlc ruined it for me (MZ added to that trainwreck)

In fallout 3 you had [censored] all choice, until the end, then BS removes what little choice you had, "the wastelan became a graveyard" = lol guys 2 people get ill, it only kills you. Then you get forcced to work with the BoS again... Then you blow their base up, the enclave still [censored] hate you. BS was an abomination.

I blew up the citadel and all I got was this [censored] gun.
