If you want to "cheat" (I would name is speed up the selling process). do a setbartergold on the merchant. ;)

Wow. Really? I pick up anything with a 10 gold per pound weight ratio and if I have more than I can sell I put it in a container in my house. If I want to sell it later I can, when I have seen more cities and more stores. But the reason to go dungeon diving for me is or the fun and the levels. The stuff and money is a positive side effect. Sorry you're just in it for the fake money... Speech craft IS a choice. You want more money or you don't. I'm not taking it. See? A choice. I choose not to take it.

I've gotten to the point where I have to quick travel to each major city and exhaust all the main vendors of their gold after every trip into the wild. The gold is racking up, but this process is getting old. I'm not going to waste any perks on getting the venders to carry more gold though.

Does anyone feel like there's almost too little gold/ vendors in Skyrim?

After dungeon diving, I have a wide variety of items [armors, weapons, potions, staves, books, circlets, jewlery, etc]

However, nearly no store will buy all these items. Furthermore, some stores, like the ones for potions, have almost no money in them, so it's impossible to sell anything in bulk.

It seems like the only way to circumvent this is to get a top level perk to increase gold by 1000, or just fast travel to every possible city and sell to every single vendor in town. IT TAKES FORVER.

Help please? How long does it take for vendors to respawn their base gold amount?

I totally agree, cities seem dead....commerically at least. One blacksmith, one trader, one...etc. Like where is the compitition? They need more venders, and have Spell making and Enchanter services!

It helps if you do the thieves guild quest line one of the earlier thiefs quest unlocks a vendor just outside whiterun with 1000 gold and will buy everything (even stolen) doing more quest unlock even more vendors.
But I still agree that you should invest in speechcraft perks if you are an exploring character and want to sell your stuff. you dont have to go for the last perk but the perk that lets you sell everything to every vendor should alleviate your problems.

My problem is that i'm to loaded with gold and dont know where to spend it on.

Cities are not dead, civil war just isn't good for business

I use whiterun. the forge woman and the drunken place both buy weapons and armor, the drunk also buys potions. them the general store for everything else. if they run out of money I store it in my house there. also remember the theives guild will buy stuff aswell.

how do u have so much stuff that u can't sell it off? u can only carry so much .which isn't really that much. I lug a companion around as a pack mule and even then I manage to sell most to whiterun

I bought the Breezehome house in Whiterun last night and bought a couple of upgrades for it.You see, previously, I had Lydia my bodyguard holding all my crap and everytime we went on a journey she was always overencumbered and I ended up having to toss a lot of valuable items. I took her to Breezehome and took all my crap from her. I neatly organized everything in dressers and cupboards. Weapons/armor go to this closet, books go in this cupboard, misc goes in this corner, etc. Therefore, when I want to sell some stuff I can come to this house and look for what I need.

Now Lydia is empty and we can go dungeon-diving again! :)

In the ancient world and medival world 99% of the people never handle or seem than gold coin. 200 gold coins back then you where wealthly.

Yeah, they probably never saw a lot of things that are in Skyrim. Skyrim is not medieval Earth, and 200 gold is not wealthy.

If you are choosing not to participate in a crafting skill, then you have ample extra perks for speechcraft.

Makes sense for an adventurer anyways.

Plus I think the lack of available gold gets rid of the "Too much gold" problem that many RPGs have. It also fits with the wartime culture of Skyrim.

Not having any problems with selling yet, more with carrying. Even with Lydia, I find that most dungeons require 4-5 fast travels to clear them of valuable items.
