Alphas on vanilla hair mesh textures

Post » Wed Apr 02, 2014 11:43 pm

Does such a mod exist?

I haven't been successful at finding one and was thinking about making one for vanilla hair that looks up to date with the myriad of head replacers we have now.

Spoiler
If you want a little bit more information on what I mean, i'm looking for textures that have consciously faded the edges of hair textures giving the hair line and bangs a softer feeling opposed to a harsher, harder line.

Vanilla hair are solid meshes, that use no alpha, but almost all hair meshes that were made by modders do. Alpha on vanilla hair would make few sense.

That's right. I recommend using Westly's Head and Hair replacers, as those are most true to the original ones in their look.

It may be possible to soften up the edges of the vanilla meshes, using alpha meshes and textures, but I think you might be fighting an uphill battle to do so.

Unfortunately, even with Westly's terrific replacer, you will lose some of the flair which exists with the vanilla hairstyles. Especially with the Dunmer.

I'll look into Westly's hair replacer and see how it differentiates itself to Vanilla hair.

I have a weird feeling i'm already using it, though and maybe i've forgot about vanilla hair entirely. :P

Thanks guys.
