Ok i find all kinds of wild corn but i cant seem to find any corn to plant so i can do the vegatable starch trick.

Several settlements have it. Graygarden comes to mind as relatively close to the start and easy to get to. It has everything but melons, which are already in Sanctuary.

You should watch your first few plantings carefully, harvesting and replanting yourself until you get a decent stock.
