Will there be spears?
But really, what types of weapons to you want to see?
Personally, I'm hoping for some nice 'nade launching MGs. And spears, can't forget spears.

Pfft. Spears.
What is everyones fascination with spears?
They are one of the oldest weapons, offering a good mix of offeensive and defensive features. They are easy to use and cheap to make and maintain. And a lot of people are still perplexed as to why they got removed from the Elder Scrolls series. Personaly I think they should have pulled swords instead.
Happy the day I discovered the benefits of using a bound spear to level endurance (and conjuration) at the start of Morrowind. The spell was cheap to cast and lasted 60 seconds. No repair was needed as you seemingly cast a new spear each time. Bound weapons were daedric quality and weightless, and using a spear you could maintain a fair distance from things that could hurt you. What wasn't to like?!
Don't bring a spear to a gunfight: You'll LOSE!
Spears are an upgraded Combat Knife on the end of a stick. My characters have killed many with a knife.
... or Deathclaw Gauntlet.
Well, bayonets were confirmed in the gameplay demo. So, just craft yourself a long rifle, put a bayonet on it, and stab people instead of shooting them. Tada! Your own spear in Fallout 4!
I'd love to see throwing weapons make a return. They were quite enjoyable, especially the throwing hatchets, for stealth characters & getting the drop on the bigger grunts you fought.
Though even better. Miniature javelin systems with one shot to rain small javelins down on an enemy or a series of enemies would be quite wonderful. Not even taking into the account the incredible force behind any melee weapon with a power armour's strength backing it. You'd be slicing right through un-armoured enemies pelvises as if they were lard on a hot summer day in New Mexico.
Suppressed sniper rifles with full auto fire and bayonets.
Pffh, it's all about halberds. Post-apocalyptic halberds. Imagine this. Can you imagine this? I bet you can't.
But I'd really like my dose of plasma weapons. And with the ability to customize and modify weapons extensively, hopefully I will be able to make it look like a classic plasma caster.
I'd like throwing weapons to return, but ones we can make ourselves, put our own sharp things on the end of sticks and such.
I can sir. I can feel it in my head meats, and it feels like win and chutney. And Bacon.
Check his signature.
It's obvious spears are what causes a game to be good.
I'm happy to see weapons that don't look like they were just refurbished pre-war pieces anymore, and some people actually pieces together junk to make a new post-apocalyptic weapon. Hopefully there's more of that kind of thing.
