Considering one of the BIGGEST points of the Star Wars world is a HUGE moral issue between the dark and light side I'm not really understanding this. Maybe you've only watched the movies and not read the books. There are definitely real-life and moral issues involved.
I'm hoping, please dear god, that I don't end up dragging this entire thread off-topic, but that is a poor example. I'm saying this without bias, as someone who's not a fan of either series, but the whole Jedi/Sith thing is comically black and white, with the Sith being all Snidely Whiplash puppy-kicking monsters for no other reason than that they feel like it, and the story needed bad guys.
As far as I can remember, even that whole story with Anakin switching sides, which I assume was
supposed to be morally deep, seemed to boil down to:
Anakin: They don't respect my power!
Sociopath: I respect your power, and I can make you stronger!
Anakin: Deal!
