Don't know, but I'll be focusing on Alteration sooner than Conjuration

If so, I can't see the point in learning a school of magic that makes only a little part of what the other do, despite maybe doing it better.

Alteration is for...altering. Opening locks and walking on water and such, yes?

Why would they add conjuring to alteration?

Do you have a source for this or did you just pull it out of your a**? As far as I know the only summonable weapons are still bound weapons in Conjuration.

My question is: How is Illusion shaping up so far? I love messing with my enemies heads and hoping its vastly improved over OB.

"Astral" what? No. Anything you "summon" out of nowhere, is conjuration.

Alteration is doing things physically impossible. Walking on water, breathing in water, unlocking locks without touching the tumblers with anything, making oneself lighter (feather), making others weigh more, etc.

I think there were some forms of conjuration type spells that were in the alteration school in morrowind, and it's certainly something added to Oblivion by mods. Maybe this is what he/she means?

A shield spell like that is confirmed, but I follow the news very well and there has been no mention of Astral Wolves or Astral Weapons (summoned). I very much doubt it will be like that, all conjuring will be in the Conjuration school.

Actually I think they were shield spells which were in conjuration instead of alteration. I haven't played oblivion for almost a year now. Too busy in the CW :fallout: :gun:

There's a Bound Shield in conjuration, but that would be a piece of armor that goes in your shield slot rather than an alteration-type shield.

If its how i think it is and not how he is describing it i would get it. Like bound weapons would be in conjour because you are conjuring a weapon. Astral weapons may just be a way to add a magical affect to a regular weapon, thus altering (alteration) the weapon to do additional damage or just allow you to hit Ghosts and such which a normal weapon would be unable to affect. though i cant explain away the astral wolves and why they wouldnt be in conjuration.

It's a spectral wolf. One was summoned with a staff, and the other by a Necromancer, who specialise in conjuration for the most part.

What I am wondering is how a Necromancer that I saw in one of the vids from Pax (no idea where the link is, sorry - not that I'd post it anyway, obviously...) made this kind of 'shield thing' which was clearly a spell

I'd bloody like one of them

In all likelyhood, the blue weapons we've seen will go to conjuration and the shield spell will go to alteration. That said, those blue weapons we've seen look more alteration than conjuration to me. I'd like it if conjuration summoned daedric weapons and armor, while alteration could do the same thing only with blue whispy versions. If we can make a shield out of nothing, why can't we make a sword?

But like I said, it's unlikely.
