New chapter! It's short, I know, but I like it as it is.Chapter four: Making friendsAlthough the fight between Aaron and the Brotherhood initiates didn’t take longer than a few minutes, it seemed forever.
The initiates gave everything they got, but were defeated quite easily nonetheless.
Prod and Tron did most of the damage, creating a perfect duo.
As Prod shot his final laser perfectly placed on the tip of the helmet, the body of the initiate degraded to a pile of smoking ash.
The Recon armor of the second initiate caught flame as Hammer sprayed his flamethrower upon him.
“Don’t you ever do that again!” Aaron shouted towards Hammer who was hovering above the deceased brothers.
He couldn’t think straight anymore. They just killed members of the Brotherhood.
If they know we killed their brethren… If they know, we’d be dead. Aaron walked to the robots. “We have to get out here, before…”
“…before someone sees you?” said a voice from behind.
Aaron turned around, looking at a woman in a mercenary outfit and large black glasses resting on her nose.
Her pitch-black hair matched the glasses perfectly.
As she walked towards the group from behind the rocks, Aaron whispered to Hammer.
“Don’t kill her just yet, Mr. Trigger-happy.”
The woman stopped right in front of Aaron scanning him with her eyes from top to toe.
He was feeling a bit awkward, as she was almost a head taller and standing way too close to him.
“Nice going with those Brotherhood idiots.” She said in a most soothing way. “I had them on my tail for days now.”
Aaron wanted to respond, but she didn’t give him the opportunity.
“You obviously hate them as much as I do, sticking their filthy noses in business that doesn’t belong to them.”
“But I don’t… We didn’t…” Aaron stuttered, completely thrown back.
“So,” She continued. “what was it exactly, that those scum wanted to know?”
Before Aaron could answer, Hammer was already floating besides the two.
“Treasure!” He shouted joyfully. “We’re on a mission to find his fathers secrets!”
Aaron’s eyes widened as he looked at Hammer. “Hammer, why the hell did you tell her that!?”
“She asked.”
A grin appeared on the woman’s face.
She walked towards the corpse of the Brotherhood Paladin and grabbed the Laser Rifle lying next to the body.
“You can kill her now.” Aaron whispered at Hammer as she walked back to them holding the gun in one hand and a few dozen caps in the other.
“No.” Hammer answered.
Aaron eyes widened once more. “Why not!?”
“I like her.”
The woman poured the caps in Aaron’s hands. “The rest of the loot is yours, but the gun’s mine.”
Aaron looked at the caps, not knowing what to do with them.
“Why do you want his gun?” He asked curiously.
“Because it’s actually mine.” She answered. “
He was the one who took it from
me.”
“Can I loot the bodies?” Hammer suddenly interrupted.
Aaron’s sight was still fixed on the caps. He felt like he had just lost all control of the situation.
“Ehh, sure.”
Hammer rushed towards the body and started a thorough search for any items.
Aaron’s look glazed from the caps to the woman’s feet as it seemed she didn’t wear any shoes.
He thought it was better not to ask, but she’d already seen him glaring.
“I like to feel the ground beneath me. That and it’s much better if you don’t want to make a sound.”
“I didn’t even ask!” Aaron protested.
She looked at him and smiled. “Also, my name’s Sharona and I’ll be joining you.”
Aaron got confused even more.
“Wait… Joining us? You can’t just do that!”
Sharona laughed and shook her hand trough his hair. “Come on, It’ll be fun!”
Somehow, Aaron felt he didn’t have anything to say about it.
