[Idea] Alternate Tribunal Main Quest

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 11:21 am

Thinking about this I have to say that a Darth Vader or robotic voice sounds like the best option since the guy has his body in such bad state it would stand to reason he wouldnt use his voice much (sort of the same reason why he doesnt have legs) so if he was a voice it would be robotic voice too

When I think of what it would be like to hear Sotha Sil talk, I am always inclined to hear something akin to listening to Stephen Hawking speak, and as such I feel the second option in the choice video is the best (a slight robotic twinge to know that the voice is produced through some kind of mechanical means rather than biological, yet non-threatening and almost soothing to a degree).

That has just always been my take on things, take it how you will :)

I personally prefer the first voice but I agree with CABRON; taking his deteriorated health condition in consideration, a robotic voice would be more logical.

I was thinking that you either have to go for a robotic sounding voice or something along the lines of Shodan or the Star Trek Computer too; a perfectly emotionless human voice that onlt a machine could reproduce

that voice still sends shivers down my spine!

Come on, Sotha Sil isn't electronical. It's only an armored body moving thanks to MAGIC. He is a god, not a stupid and feelingless robot. If you want to hear something that sounds like Star Wars, okay then, go buy a Star Wars game. But please don't try to bring this into a LORE mod. There is no way on Nirn a voice could sound like that.

LORE POWER LORE POWER

The fact that Sotha Sil can survive after Tribunal breaks lore far more than just his "electronical" voice. Prove me wrong.

About the voice, I'd like to have it deeper, but I couldn't find a voice like that, and changing the pitch did not get a good result

Do you mean he should die at the end of Tribunal? I want to try to make this mod close to lore, so let me know what you all know.
By the way, does anyone know why he does not have legs? In the lore forum, someone said Vivec cut his legs in Ald Sotha. Someone else suggested he replaced his legs to get rid of mortal imperfections.

In game, he has no physical attacks, only magical attacks (fire and shock based, and damages wepon and armor too).
He restores 5 magicka per second, and once his magicka reaches 0, http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/2660/rrrsy.jpg, until the magicka is restored.

Anyway, the animation now is complete. Once I fix e few things, I'll upload the model as resource. I'd like to see how other modders, could use it :)
I'll then continue this mod (the next god to make is Mehrunes Dagon).

I don't mean he should die in your mod. I mean, if he dies during TR MQ, his death becomes part of official lore (It can be mentioned in some future games or tes novels) and any plugin cancels his death confronts with lore. It's somewhat like joinable House Dagoth mods.

It's your mod, AA. If you want Sotha Sil to be alive, then make him so. Anybody that doesn't like it doesn't have to play it. Hell, Bethesda has been accused of "breaking" lore with each game, why should we try to maintain it?

It is your mod. Personally, I would like alternate paths (working with Helseth, opposing Helseth, redeeming Almalexia, Almalexia going suicidally insane, etc), but I would like all options to culminate in the same general, lore-safe events. Helseth is on the throne, Sotha Sil is dead, Almalexia is dead, and Vivec has disappeared.

This IS a lore mod, since it tries to fit with the lore existing at the moment of the game.

Vivec's Fate apparently conflicts with Bethesda's vision of Vivec's fate. Though, saying this mod isn't a lore mod would be silly. It completely fits with the lore of Morrowind, even if Oblivion decided things would have happened another Way.

I mean, it's not whether the Mod has a lore correct end that determies whether this mod is a Lore Mod (and shouldit Be that way, very few mod could be called so). It is much more its willingness to fit as much as possible with the TES universe, so that its players can feel that it could have been Part of the original game.

And then, tell me how this Mod COULDN'T be a lore mod. :)

I like the idea of alternate paths but not the idea of them all ending basically the same. Multiple paths should allow players to influence the ending through their actions. Besides, it's an alternate Tribunal main quest. Its story isn't going to be lore correct anyway. It might as well end differently to.

Basically, I agree completely with Raven Dumron. Lore based mods should fit in with Morrowind's lore but still be allowed narrative freedom when their purpose is to tell a story that deviates from original game's events.

I thought that the idea was for this mod was to actually meet Sotha Sil but in the end he would be either killed by a failed experiement or murdered by some servant of the bad guy for the mod, be it Dagoth Ur, Mehunes Dagon or some other unnamed bad guy, and that Almalexia wouldn't be the bad guy. About his legs, its never clear weather Vivec cuts them off or he becomes so focused in his experiemnts that he lets his body go to waste and when things have gone too bad he just replaced the useless flesh with machinery

Very nice. The voice reminds me a little of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Km4f-eRE4Kc&feature=related, which makes sense because, hey, robot. *chuckle*

Really like that new video, the touch of effects during the speech was brilliant!

I would also be curious to see your updated overview of the plotline, since judging by the posts in the thread things have changed a bit since the OP was developed possibly.

Anyways, this is shaping up to be a really great mod - can't wait to play it out.

I noticed that too, perhaps someone could do a head replacer for him where he either looks more emotionless or looks a tad less serious. Would be quite funny if someone did a joke head replacer that had him with a silly grin on his face. hah

The evil look is just because of the mask. It's supposed to look fierce ;)

This is amazing! I never liked Almalexia turning out to be an insane megalomaniac...

BTW: I think "your" Sotha Sil would agree...

Hi, I'm new here and I need to say, that i have logged only because of this mod ;) . I'm real fan of Sotha Sil and if you make this mod, then release it, you will become my personal Christ dude ;) . I have also some ideas for this mod.

1 - Making Perfect Unperfect
Mayby after the new main Tribunal quest, PC will gain information from Sotha Sil, that we want's to finish Unperfect now, when the Dagon is defeated and he is - more of all - mortal, and need immortal body. That could be side quest, or finish of main quest, I don't know. I think also, that Clockwork City should be expanded and "live" more, if Colckmaker is alive. After i finished MQ of Morrowind with my Telvanni mage, I always dreamt of meeting Sotha Sil, this wise Seht, Secret of Morrowind, great wizard, stuff ;) . This mod could give me - us, players - oportunity to expand relations with him.

2 - End of the Temple
Logical consequence of new Tribunal events. Something like Vivec's Fate, but better. Vivec can die, he is an idiot, but I love Seht, let's make something with him. Mayby new, immortal Mechanichal God? When we repair Unperfect, SS can go to this new body and became really immortal, mechanichal god. Mayby even together with the rest of the Tribunal, but I don't like them ;) .

3 - Please, write some cool dialogues of Sotha Sil. He should to be wise, ancient creature, he is a god at all, isn't he? Something to say about Ur, rest of Tribunal, Deadra, Aedra, Empire, Tamriel, Morrowind, lore he should have to say ;) .

4 - Will this be compatibile with Vivec's Fate and/or Tamriel Rebuilt?

Sorry for all errors, I'm not native english. Dear Anteres, I'm with you ;) .
