Alternativ Base Locations?..

Post » Sun Dec 20, 2015 12:19 am

Okay, so i am just wondering if any of you know of any alternativ locations other than red rocket where you can build your base, and with base i mean none settlement locations, i am atm using sanctuary as i dislike red rocket, but i am gettting fed up with the konstant kidnappings of my well defended sanctuary, and im tired of delivering recently completed quests to preston only ton get 3 new settlement quests, so i am looking for other places than red rocket to build on...

There are, what, thirty or so settlement options scattered around. If you're looking for ones without any pre-existing settlers, I like Taffington Boat House (on the river, near Coventry/Covenant?).... and the Starlight Drive-In.... and Hangman's Alley (right near Diamond City in downtown Boston!).... there's a lighthouse on the coast that's nice.... Croup Manor is a bit far south but isn't too bad... S-something Farming Collective (I forget the name) is on the western side of the Wasteland and has a lot of mostly-intact buildings and a big ol' barn (don't dismantle the computer until you deal with the hippy robot!).

If you are looking for places with 0 settlers. The Drivein has none, and a few others I can't really think of, maybe hangmans alley at first, one a bit south of abernathy had none either if I recall. But you can send settlers away from any settlement to bring it down to 0.

The highway overpasses above Finch Farm and Greygarden are part of the buildable area and quite nice to furnish.

I recommend Greygarden and also recommend not having any non-robot settlers move in. The Robots will stick to their routines so they shouldn't end up in your stronghold up above like wandering human settlers sometimes do.

Also, the robots won't steal your stored weapons and ammo like human Settlers sometimes do as well.

Once up there, you can place the fast travel mat and remove any stairs you created so it's you're own little haven. (There is an off, off, off chance of your provisioner spawning up there, but he generally won't hurt anything.)

If you don't want to build and don't want any settlers, then Homeplate in Diamond City works.

i didnt write that i didnt want to build, i actually love the building part, but i hate the constant quests from preston and the constant kidnappings of the same person over and over again in a very well defended settlement.... its so annoying that im starting to dislike the game and sanctuary..

As long as you have any Settlers, there is the chance for attacks and kidnapping quests.

I think what you might want is a sort of "companion's retreat." I turned Covenant into one, but you could do it with any settlement. If you need to do so to complete a quest, build the beacon but immediately turn it off and then only send companions there. (Or don't even do that and just keep it your own private pad.)

The only issue with Greygarden (overpass) is that you can't remove anything up there, at least I couldn't. Sure, you can build up there, but you'll have to build around a few junk cars.
