(It's going to be basic because I'm not really in the mood to write right now)

When I was playing Skyrim earlier today, I was wondering for another, more peaceful, alternative towards the end of the Civil War.

Why do you REALLY need to kill the leader of the opposite faction?
(just to make a statement? If it would be for this reason, why not grant mercy to the oppossite party? Wouldn't that make for a stronger message?)


What do you guys think of the pos. and neg. aspects of this solution?
Would it be considered as possible in the Lore?

There's the peace council but that's only temporarily. And forcing people to choose makes for interesting cenarios.
