Altmer Warriors

How have I not seen this yet...

This wasn't added recently, was it?
's been there since 06.

Well duh, 'space" has been a big part of TES, I'm talking about "Space Crap". The parts where it seems like Star Trek is taking a dump on TES.
Well, me thinks you might want to actually watch Star Trek some day. It's remarkably different, and features remarkably little space. Anyway, if it's not your cup of tea, that's perfectly fine.

The very idea of capt'n Cyrus' Void opera overloads me with all kinds of unnecessary, yet amusing implications.
Void: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Carrick. Its supratemporal mission: to explore strange new plane(t)s, to seek out new sources of income and new adversaries, to boldly seek where's money in that.
...witness the Thras gas out-matching 16th-dimensional math in close supramundial combat.

This reminds me of a book I once read of which I can unfortunately not remember the name. It was part of a series by different authors where one author would pick up where the previous author left off. Anyway, in this book the stars were actual holes through which one could enter some sort of stream between worlds. The vessel was an ordinary 3 mast ship made of wood and encased in a magic bubble. Maybe someone will know the name of the book.

The only thing nerdy about me is my love of TES. Nothin's gonna change that...

unless this space crap gets out of hand.

Just give him time, and he'll realize he's a nerd before long, and that revelation will either drive him mad or send him spiraling into a new, unplumbed depth of role play.

Cyrus has been to Yokuda, Tamriel, and space. I bet that his next adventure will either be Akavir or time travel.

EDIT: Rereading this, I took particular note of "The Devil Take the Hindmost" written on Cyrus's ship. Who is the Devil? Lorkhan? Mehrunes? Molag?

You should write some lore about short staffs held with 1 hand, in an L shape that are powered by soul gems and fire out colored beams of pure magic and make weird noises.

Some initial thoughts:

The tale would appear to be set after the Treaty of Stros M'kai which places it around the start of the Third Era.

Phynasteryear 4558 SIY: Assuming that the Phynasteryear is the same length as a Tamrielic year then the starting point of the Elven way of reckoning could equate to Merethic Era 772 (assuming they don't include the Dragon Break).

Void stones seem to be an essential element of void travel, though it appears a 'sphere of anti-madness' can be used instead.

A Battlespire is an Imperial Voidship. The one in the game of the same name was presumably just one being used by the Imperial Battlemages for training purposes, though perhaps by that time it was the last in active use.

Is there any relationship between the Mirror and the C0DA used by Vehkships?

For some reason there is an embargo on non military craft approaching Masser.

What does it mean that both Reman and Tiber have shown an interest in the moons?

What (if any) bearing does this have on the Void Nights of the Fourth Era?

Much of this recently released material appears to involve the moons (Reman, Tiber and Khajiit) combined with the inexplicable Void Nights mentioned in Skyrim could this be a clue as to forthcoming DLC?

I'm not the mer they think I am at home, oh no no, I'm a Rocketmer!

Sorry, guys! ^^

This was awesome by the way. And to the original poster there are pure Altmer warriors in Skyrim that lament their treatment by the mages.

At the risk of sounding like an idiot, what just happened a few pages ago? Some sort of writing duel?

Cyrus hijack "lolol" ?

It was suppose to answer OP's question... but adventures in the void doesn't say much about warriors... maybe.

Y'know, it's weird... this velvet contained most of my favorite elements of TES lore, and yet, to be perfectly honest, I just couldn't get into it as much as I could with, say, the Alduagga, which focused mostly on things I don't particularly care about.

Anyway, thanks for posting all of this!

MK wrote an initial bit with the Altmer. Then Lady N started suggesting things, which MK wrote in. Then Lady N started doing a revision of text from the Redguard comic. By that point it turned into who could write and post faster. So yeah, a writing duel.

Turn back or we will fire upon you in majestic ways.

I think this is the greatest military warning ever issued.

What's with the the insult-the-OP? Not kind. Yeah, the Altmer can and have always been great warriors, if weird ones. Especially at sea, including the seas of Oblivion.

Yh. Even in the war between the Aldmeri Dominion V's the Empire, I believe the AD had the superior navy. The Imperial armies only turned the war around when on the ground during land battles in Cyrodiil.

I guess it depends if the OP was using warrior to mean melee style combat of metal forged weapons or just meant a race who is able in war.
Altmer are obviously a successful race in war as they walked into Valenwood, then took southern Hammerfell and nearly managed to cripple the armies of the Empire. The difference is that Altmer specialise in the use of magic for warfare. Flaming fire balls or lightning bolts & magic shields.
Then they have the Bosmer of the Aldmeri Dominion to supply archers as support (obviously dressed in Elven armor as opposed to specialising shield magic). Archers are again a great addition for naval warfare

^ I like how it took several months, a lore-war between MK and Lady N, and perhaps one of the wildest and most revealing battles in TES history to get to a point where OP's initial query could be adequately answered.

Just what the title says. Is it possiible lore wise for Altmers to be pure warriors?
Sure is. Too many people underestimate the Altmer and they've paid a heavy price for it. Even after the great war people on these forums still put them down. Maybe one day they'll get the respect they deserve.

I can't imagine - what's the problem for some folk to be warriors? Even hobbits could make great warriors. Not to say altmeri.
