Alto Wine Quest Item?

Post » Sun May 20, 2012 4:55 am

After running out of health potions fighting some Falmer and promptly eating my entire food inventory, I noticed that it was impossible to eat or even drop the item labelled as 'Alto Wine.' I remember drinking it before, and my quest log doesn't mention any quests that involve collecting it. Is this a bug, or do I just have a poor memory when it comes to remembering quests?

Yes I have two of them am afraid they are STUCK forever in my inventory because I paid gold to the temple not to clean them all up after I already picked up 2 of them.

So that part of the quest is "done" but the "remove quest item" part did not run to get rid of them.

And here is the really bad part, quest items in this game HAVE WEIGHT!

This could eat at my ability to carry things if this happens a lot. I thought that is why quest items did not have "weight" in Oblivion, because you were not in control of dropping out of your inventory.

You just have to complete the quest chain. You're "supposed" to use them for the later parts of the quest.
Spoiler
It's a lie and you're told you don't need them. They can be dropped afterwards.

Ditto...I'm carrying 10, unfortunately, and I can't dump them, sell them, or consume them. Funny thing, I don't even remember picking up any "alto wine" related quests.
I just grabbed the things cause their weight-->gold ratio is decent. Maybe there is a quest I haven't noticed for them, or, its a sad bug.

It's the A Night to Remember quest. You should have a giants toe as well.
