Not really. I keep my games in "rotation-" that is, i play through one until I beat it, and then go to another.

Oblivion's on that list. So is Guild Wars, Hellgate: London, Mass Effect....

Yep. I'm constantly trying other games and constantly returning to Oblivion. For me Oblivion is like a wife who forgives all my advlteries. She knows I'll be back. Those bimbos I flirt with are no match for her. ;)

It's certainly a game I return to. I think my longest break was about eight months. I don't play it 'religiously' like I used to. If I've left it too long I find it hard to continue a character so I start anew. Most of my characters haven't got past about Level Fifteen in the last 18 months. Still, it's one of those games I'll never trade in (I regretted that the first time).

err... i often find myself rotating between ARENA (tes 1), Heroes of Might and Magic 3, neverwinter Nights (1) and Oblivion. But Oblivion keeps crashing, mainly due to hardware issues :(

but i'd never compare it to women :obliviongate:

Yup always come back.
Lets see, I bought Dragon age, Demon souls and Call of Duty Modern warefare 2, but I can't play them for long, I get bored and put in Oblivion, heck I can't even play fallout anymore, I put fallout in load my character, get bored and pop in oblivion.

Two games I've played ever since their very first release are Championship Manager (now Football Manager) and Heroes of Might and Magic. Those will always be on the top of my list of games I go back to every so often. I've been struggling to find a proper computer RPG as I've never tried one that have come close to the feel of the real feel of RPG, but now I think I might have found it. It definitely feels like this is another one I'll be playing for a long time to come and I'll certainly be sure to keep an eye on the 5th installment. I'm actually kinda glad I didn't discover it until now as it's all patched up and have tons of great mods.

Right now all I play is Oblivion. It's the only game I've got for my PS3, actually, because I'm afraid to part with alot of money to possibly wind up with a game I don't like. Was toying with the idea of getting Dragon Age, but since Sims 3 is about to finally make it to console, I'll be going there...

So I'll be leaving the world of Cyrodiil soon when Sims 3 comes out, but I certainly will come back to Oblivion, no doubt. :) I'll probably only give it up for good if TES: V is even better.

I did Heroes of Might and Magic on the PS2 years ago. Not a bad game when compared to some of the other crappy "RPGs" that were out at the time for this console.

Happens to me all the time. Except for MGS4 that did not leave my PS3 until I finished the story, then Oblivion was put back in and left in until Fallout 3 came out. Then I started playing Fallout 3 for 4 hours then played Oblivion for 6.

Guess I can add my name to the list. Got Dragon Age: Origins yesterday. Got it used for $26.99 + tax. I'm glad I got it used. I'm not saying it svcks or anything, but after that first half-hour it just wasn't gripping me. I put it away and put Oblivion back on!

I suppose the reason i constantly find myself playing it is because it doesn't "try" to be epic/awesome. Tried playing Mass Effect 2 for a second play through not long ago and it's just a cinematic experience which, like a movie is good the first time you play through it but that's it. Oblivion on the other hand is subtle and has a world that's just... there, and you go in it.

It's really good :)

... personally, Morrowind for me is like THE game that I couldn't live without. Oblivion is just the only game I cheat on Morrowind with on a regular basis and for longer periods of time at a time.

I had my best Oblivion experience so far last night!

I watched the 2005 black/white silent short film remake of the old H.P. Lovecraft classic, The Call of Cthulhu. It's not particularly horrifying or anything, but if you've ever played the Call of Cthulhu RPG, or read the book, you know there's more than what's on the screen!

Now right after this, I went and played a bit of Oblivion, where I did the Bruma Countess mission about obtaining an Akaviri artifact waaay up in the windblown snowy mountains. You can probably guess where this is going =). You get the old diary describing all the horrors they experienced, and not having played this before I had no idea what to expect. I hadn't been in the mountains yet either. To add to the effect it was nighttime when I hiked the trail to the Serpent cave. I haven't walked so slow and been so paranoid in a looooong time! The wind was howling, the sky was cloudy and then the occasional battle music, I guess when an animal was close, had me jumping in my chair. And I was about to [censored] myself when I encountered the first Ogre as I hadn't seen one of those before! Then came the old misty fort with the friggin ghost you have to fight. Holy crap, my heart rate must have been close 150 throughout. It was awesome!! As soon as I had found the artifact I RAN out of the fort and fast traveled back to Bruma where I RAN until I was in a safe harbor with actual people around me at the inn. Not until then did I settle down and remove my sweaty fingers from the keyboard. Thank you Olav!

And Thanks Oblivion!!

I always say this. Bioware makes games for people who like to be told a story. Bethesda makes games for people who like to tell themselves a story. ;)

It doesn't matter what games I'm playing, I'll eventually hear the call to go back. And I'm always powerless to resist, as my sig suggests.

Maybe that has soemthing to do with why I couldn't get into Dragon Age the other night. I dunno, i was trying to pay attention and kept getting lost even after just starting the game. Then I started thinking about my Oblivion characters. Goodby Dragon Age!

That's how I feel too. Morrowind just kicks Oblivion in the nards when it comes to sandbox play, but I can't help myself for liking the fast travel system. I forgive Morrowind of its dated gameplay, and in return it forgives me for spending time in Cyrodiil.

Yes, a very astute observation. Bioware does tell a great story, but when I want to roam free and make my own way I go to Bethesda and nobody else!
