Always crash when loadin' a save (Crysis2.exe, version 1.9)

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 12:09 pm

I was very happy when the new patch arrived (especially for the high res textures)

After installed both patch dx11 (can't run it yet, due that I own a dx 9/10 vga) and the high res patch. I went ingame
But I noticed that when the game was loading the save took much thime and when the bar was complete -> Crash. At first I thought it is a random crash or maybe it's something with the save...deleted the save game and replayed the mission. Worked...then at some point I've got killed by a CELL operative...hit enter to load the last save. After 2 seconds -> Crash.
At this point I've decided to replay another mission (Dark Heart)...I've played the mission until the first checkpoint. I've went out to main menu and loaded the last save. Loaded and when the bar was full -> crash

I've uninstalled the game and reinstalled it with patch 1.8 and again I've load the last save...guess what? The save worked... In conclusion I can say that the patch 1.9 is to blame (at least in my case)

Oh, before I've forget here's my RIG:

CPU: Intel Core2Duo E8400 ~ 3.5 GHz
RAM: 4GB DDR2 ~1066 MHz
HDD: 750GB (25% free)
VGA: Zotac nVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 with 1792 MB GDDR3 (with multi-gpu support) - VGA drivers 275.33
Motherboard: Asus P5E with PCIE x16 Gen2
OS: Windows Vista SP2 64bit

I have no idea what cause the CTD.

Also this is what Event Viewer says:

"Faulting application Crysis2.exe, version 1.9.0.0, time stamp 0x00000000, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x00000000, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0xdf7ab20f, process id 0x1214, application start time 0x01cc3596658f7352."

I do. Waiting for a fix. There are other threads opened that seem to be more popular.

i have the same issue and i believe the exe try to access more than 2G memory and it crashes. but i run it with ultra ingame setting.

i download the 1.9 patch from http://www.geforce.com and doubt this version exe isn't compiled with largeaddressaware flag so it's not able to access extra memory even in x64

yea i have the same problem as well. It seems like a lot of people with the issue have an e8400 too. Don't know if that has anything to do with it though.

A group of hackers released a fix for the save crash:

http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/6516490/Crysis_2_v1.9_Cracked_PROPER-FLTDOX

Downloaded, tested and worked 100%

Also 100% clean

I have a REALLY bad CPU, and the Crysis 2 crashed after every 2 maps in SP and MP! And here is what happened after installing the 1.9 patch:

Multiplayer= After 1.9= NO CRASHES! The Multiplayer doesn't crash anymore!!
Singleplayer= After 1.9= Save games not working, crashes after every dead....
