Amazing what mods do for this game!

Hello everyone,

So far I have a few mods 12 to be exact. There just game enhancing mods nothing too crazy. But tonight is the first night I really played with mods. I tell you almost pitch black wasteland is dang scary. Its such a releif walking up to the street lights. Mods make the game feel all new again. Tonight I felt like I just broke the seal on the box and installed the game for the first time again. I can totaly see now how people can play this game for thousands of hours with mods. The possabiltys are endless! I love the stock game so I am sticking to just enhancing mods for now. Maybe when (if ever) I get board of these mods. I will download the game changing mods. Please tell me about your mod experience.

I personally use a few 'game-enhancing' mods myself;

For total immersion with mods:

1) FWE with settings to make the game as hard as possible
2) Play on normal
3) Limit the amount of enemy spawns. Too many enemies kills the immersion when every street has a war of its own.
4) Use Fellout's pitch black nights.
5) Remove NPC/Creature markers from your compass
6) Have no companions with you
7) Download Fallout 1/2 soundtrack for Fallout 3 from NMA.
8) Set timescale to 5 or lower
9) Start at 6:00 PM in Rivet City, do an all-out tour through Rivet City-Dave-Raven Rock-Dunwich-Rivet City.
10) Have no power armor or big guns with you. Leather armor and hunting rifle with combat knife supporting is best for this. Low lever a plus. Night vision is allowed and even recommended for urban areas.

At least, that's how I achieve total immersion in my game.

I would personally suggest FWE + GreenWorld + Fellout
these mods made Fallout a whole new game for me, just started a new game and I'm lovin it!

That's not a fair recommendation IMO - - I don't feel like my Phalanx mod should be catagorically excluded by anyone who's insisting on 'immersion'.

*sticks up for Tarrant*
Get FWE + MMM, turn on Increased Increased Spawns and grab Phalanx.

Some of my favorite mods are the little things:
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=952 - stops people from yelling at you when your crosshair accidentally brushes past a cash register or locked container
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3711 - cleans up the street litter
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1289 - I like energy weapons but not a bajillion goo piles
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1745- because junkie characters are fun!
