Nvidia is kind of dominating the GPU market right now.
But they don't have any real hold in CPUs, so AMD has that on them. But then they're also trumped out by Intel at the moment in that regard.
username, just joined, and the type of question.. thats you M'aiq, isn't it?
and it depends on what your looking for in a product, one product is not better than another simply because of brand, compare the specs of the actual products and you will find your answer
I prefer Intel/Nvidia to AMD, but I have not had an AMD using device in Years.
They both have their advantages and disadvantages. I prefer AMD because generally they are better for password cracking and triple monitor support. They also are more open about their technology (Crossfire/TressFX/Mantle/Free Sync)
Nvidia generally has better driver support and their new cards are usually better for power consumption and heat.
I run two AMD 7970's in my main system and I'm waiting for AMD to release new cards before I upgrade. The r9 200 series was kind of a joke since they were just rebrands from the 7000 series.
Edit -
Nvidia's marketing of the GTX 970 left me with a bad feeling about them, along with a lot of the Nvidia Gameworks technology.
Up until last year I had been using ATI/AMD cards exclusively. But after being burned by faulty cards I decided to make the switch. I'm glad I did.
