How would the Midwest get to it if Vegas and Vancouver take the island? Are you planning on transporting it somehow?

Honestly, I see no issue saying " Alright, they own this land now. " But, I guess if you folks on stopped to let Pada go on with something, nothing would stop you from just ending them if he moves on.
The Midwest will need to speak to Vegas and Columbia in Vancouver, though.
My gut says no to that as well. Primarily because A. it seems a little cheap to give all your stuff away at the last moment to another faction and B. There's only a minimal chance you'd be able to transport it to the midwest. Any way you go you have to go through hostile territory. One of the three nations attacking the Brotherhood would undoubtedly take it for their own.
If nothing else, the Midwest's claim would be ignored, since they've got no people there. The Midwest would have to go to war to enforce the claim. For Vancouver island, that doesn't seem to be a particularly worthy thing to fight over. If nothing else, it would also undoubtedly sour relations between Vegas/Vancouver and the Midwest and that's assuming that we relent to a random territory exchange right in the middle of our military advance.
And to be honest, its a bit of a under-handed thing. A bit like Tundra giving all his land to the Imperium last convention just because he was done with his faction for no real rhyme or reason.
By plane, I'd imagine, though it'd be hard to do. They could fly to the NCR, be harbored and whatnot, or go around in the Pacific and then through Panama. The tech is plausible, I'd say.
No problem, I'd wished for the Midwest and the BoS to interact more but such is life.
Anyway, when is the next Assembly starting?
*Don't mean to be pushy*
Uhmm, I'm okay with you initiating a scorched earth policy, it just makes little sense. You wouldn't just give up as soon as we marched across the border into Washington. You would stand and deliver. I feel like again, same thing with the Vancouver Island deed, this is a little bit of a "oh poo original plan didn't work out, quick make up something just to spite my enemies."
I'm not sure how that would work. Your navy barely evacutates whats left of your army to Vancouver Island, there is not Midwest Port that you can access. If you try to fly it, we would attack it. And I would disregard the Midwest claim to the land anyhow. Since they have no people. and it previously belonged to my nation, there is no way well just allow the Midwest to have it.
I don't think it was ever said that Vancouver Island once belonged to your nation. Vancouver was always a place-holder name, just there. You changed it to Columbia anyhow, I don't think there was ever any claim that the island did indeed belong to you at one time.
I brought it up OOC, and it was suggested that be in my history. So I made it so.
Just saying it's silly to me is all. If the nation was originally supposed to just be called Columbia, with no issue about Vancouver, then saying it was in there seems odd. Just my thoughts.
Technically Vancouver is a Canadian island, part of the province of British Columbia. I could see why it would be important to his faction.
Imagine Romans, without the city of Rome.
Carthaginians without Carthage.
England without London, ect.
I can't really argue against scorched earth, since I really didn't have a problem when bosmight used it, however I don't think every suit of power armor and every piece of valuable equipment can be possibly destroyed.
Granted, the Brotherhood does have precedence with doing this (blowing up their own bases in New Vegas), but still, I think its a stretch to assume that Vegas/Vancouver/ the Syndicate just inherit nothing of value.
I don't know if it was "official" but we discussed using that as part of Vancouver's history (this was when Padawan was MIA and the Brotherhood effectively an NPC nation).
I don't know how many agreed, but it seems at least somewhat reasonable. The Brotherhood had to come north didn't they? I mean, they aren't natives to Vancouver island.
Its not a big deal really, since I assume Vancouver can just claim the land should be theres, but I think its an interesting tidbit we could include.
You know what else is silly, the Brotherhood somehow crossing the straits and taking Vancouver Island from a nation who started in the city of Vancouver. That's just silly as well. The Brotherhood has been there for what, 10-15 years max, my nation like other in its biography is supposed to a hundred years into its life. Similar to say the NCR. I'm not sure how upstarts who 15 years ago were getting their butts kicked by the NCR could possibly manage to cross to teh island before an NCR-esque nation and take it over.
Yeah, let's talk about silly.
Vancouver was renamed to Columbia and there was not a mention of Vancouver in the FS at all if I remember right.
The Brotherhood from the get-go had a player and in every other series they started with squat, so whoever made the first map gave them some extra land. Vancouver had a long while before you came in to RP it, so the Brotherhood has a better foundation " in-lore ". Plus, the Brotherhood taking it was just done, assumed. I don't think it's implausible Maybe that NCR-like faction didn't try for the island, or even look into taking it.
Edit: Sorry for the double-post.
Also, off to bed, I'll see what's going on tomorrow.
Anyways, it doesn't matter, whether I had it previously or not, or whether the brotherhood could have reasonably gotten it, or whatever. They had it, now they don't. If the Brotherhood is capitulating, then Vegas and I will take the land. And unless you want to fight for an Island that you cannot access, have never seen, and is of no value to you whatsoever then this conversation is done.
I love the testy attitude, really is refreshing. I was just arguing a point.
It was an idea, " Give the land over to our long-lost brothers, maybe they'll use it. " Not anything to get mad about. The Midwest won't fight for it, there's no reason to.
Sorry about getting upset. It just seemed like such a pointless conversation I was unsure why you were really arguing for it.
