Here's the next chapter for all of your delight. I'm thinking of making a website about this and possible future stories for fans to vote and such on how it goes. It'll include updates, notes, and anything else that the fans may want. What do you all think? Good or bad idea?
Chapter 14
Forward Outpost AR-04 Medical Tent 08

0430 Hours
Adam slowly walked over to Christine, the girl he has had a crush on for a few years now since meeting in Basic Training in his preteen years. His heart raced, while his body began to sweat. Her body was beautiful and in shape for a fifteen year old. Wonderfully soft black hair with stunning brown eyes.
"Christine? could I talk to you, alone?" he mumbled. She looked at him a bit confused, and nodded to him, leaving her group of friends in the mess hall.
"Yes, Adam?" she asked, worried.
"I've known you for three years now? and? I've had a crush on you ever since?" darting his eyes away from her, he was regretting even asking her to talk to him. "? and I would like to know if? you feel the same way?"
She studied him for a second with her eyes staring into his. After what felt like an eternity to Adam, she smiled and said "I knew it!" Giggling, she gave him a soft, gentle kiss on the cheek, and whispered "me too." Before walking off.
He smiled, and quickly walked off back to his bunk, cheering along the way.
Adams slowly awoke from his deep sleep. For the first time in many years, he could finally get a good nights rest free of nightmares and torment. Pain surged through his body with lighting efficiency. Struggling to sit up, he cursed out in agony. A nearby medic rushed over to him, pushed him back down on the bed and administered more pain-killers.
Lieutenant Pebbles softly sighed and stood up. Walking over to Adam, he patted him gently on the shoulder.
"You took one hell of a beating, Sergeant."
Adams voice was weak and soft, "I noticed? where's m-? my team?"
"Relax, they're safe. They're the ones who saved your crazy ass from that madman." Replied Pebbles carefully.
Adams slowly moved his head to the left, and noticed a vase with some roses in it, along with a make-shift Get Well card. He rolled his eyes back and laid his head down.
"I'm pretty sure I don't have to name who sent those flowers?" chuckled Pebbles.
"Can't you just kill me now?" cried out Adam.
Pebbles' smiled, and walked out of the tent. A few minutes later, Griffin and Simpson walked into the tent, followed by Jackson and White. Simpson moved over to Adams left and smiled, while Griffin and the rest were on the right.
"You okay there, Sergeant?" whispered Griffin gently.
"Yeah, I-? I'll pull through." Smiled Adams. He looked around the tent, mind still fuzzy of all the events that happened. "What happened after I fell?"
White moved forward, "Well, Sarge, you took a pretty big fall. We landed nearby and fought against 'em little evil things. I ain't knowing what you did, but you sure pissed them off. We then took care of you after those bastards tortured you. Hope came back around and airlifted your ass back here, and that's where we stayed eversince."
Adams frowned; his team's mission was canceled because of him, though they were able to finish off the leader at the very least. A nearby Vertibird flew close and over the tent, causing the walls to moved around a little while nearby debris twirled in the air. Griffin smiled at Adams, but quickly looked down and grunted, pushing off some debris that landed on her armor.
This caused Adams to laugh softly, making his insides hurt, but he still enjoyed it never the less.
"The Doctor said you should be able to walk around here in a day or so, sir." Smiled Simpson. She softly put her hand on his, and he sighed. Wishing she would stop this childish crush. Though there was a part of him that found it? amusing.
Jackson stood in the far back of the tent, and just listened in. He still hasn't said a word since the Behemoth fight that nearly killed him.
"We were worried?" whispered Jackson in his deep, masculine voice. This took everyone off by surprise. White and Simpson never heard him speak, while Griffin and Adam only heard him twice. They looked at him for a second, and nodded. Adams smiled slowly.
The tents door opened again, and the horrid smell of The Pitt roared in while the darkness outside full of pollution was all that you could see. Lieutenant Pebbles walked in with his brisk pace. Standing near the bed, he smirked and put his arms on his hips.
"While I enjoy this little love making process." He cut in. "The President would like to chat with you on a private comm channel, Sergeant."
Simpson rolled her eyes and stood up, walking out, before giving Adams one last wink. The rest followed her.
"You-, you're an [censored]." Grumbled Adams softly.
Pebbles did a quick laugh and set a nearby communication device on the table, turning it on, to bring in the Presidents' optimistic voice.
"Ah, I hear you're awake, Sergeant." Chimed in the President. "Good, I was worried a bit for your health. You my boy are my star soldier on the frontlines to rebuild America." He voice hinted a little bit emotional, though for a Machine it must have obviously been faked just to add some impact to Adams. "Now, I'm not sure if Pebbles has told you, but Operation Purge is still in effect. It's taking a lot to clean this hellish place."
Pebbles continued where the President left off. "While the leader is dead, a resistance among the slaves is forming. They're refusing to leave and attack our troops, believing we're ruining their chance for freedom while we've already set hundreds free. There's also what the locals call "Trogs", and some raiders left to deal with. Let alone the pollution that is very dangerous to the health of anyone prolonged here."
Adams nodded. "When do I go?" he questioned.
Pebbles frowned. "You're not going anywhere until the Doc' says so. You may be able to tomorrow at best, most likely not. Get your rest." He ordered.
"You may use whatever force is necessary, my good boy. The Slaves, Raiders, and Trogs are all your choice as to how to dispose of properly. The pollution is being worked on by our scientist teams." The President chirped in. "However, I must go. Take care."
Pebbles smiled, and was about to leave.
"Oh, one last thing. By the order of the President, you're promoted to Staff Sergeant now." He grinned, and walked out of the door.
Staff Sergeant, huh? This could be fun?
