He's on a monitor is he not? It dosnt take a genius to figure out he's a computer...

What do you mean? His "console" isn't being displayed or anything (e.g. its not showing his computer "self"). Its just a plain blue screen with a white line (basically what is "face" looks like) and an eyecam that he is using to talk underneath it.

I don't really see how that says "Computer President" any more than it does "Human President who is not attending the convention in person, but instead remotely."

Guys, I think we need to slow down and try to hammer out a little more lengthy posts here. The fast posting is nice, but some of us need time to breathe. If we keep going so fast, people will really fall behind. Like myself, I'll be going to bed soon, and when I come back I'll be drowning in posts. So slowing down would be nice.

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm right. Either way since it seems you just did t respond to that part I don't see how it's much of a problem.

I was simply reaching back to my FO 3 experience where it's quite obvious that Eden is a machine.

I didn't respond to it because I don't believe the President should be privy to that.

But I don't think you understand. Eden's "person" is not in the room. His console is not in the room and being displayed. Its not like in Fallout 3 where you "go up" to him.

I guess I haven't described it right. All that's being displayed in the White House room is blue screen which has been placed up on the wall of the room itself (sort of like a television if that helps) Eden is still at Raven Rock. His voice is coming from an eyecam underneath this "screen".

So in other words, no real way to tell that he's an AI.

Yes, yes, I know were not by his "console", I was talking about how he's talked about before you meet him and how he talks on the radio.

And if you don't want Silver to know then he dosnt, as I said, since you chose not to address that comment it never happened.

Edit: Now, I'm off to bed.

Well...not to split hairs with you but I was completely floored by the realization that Eden was a computer when I first played Fallout 3. I never got the impression at all from his radio talks that he was anything but human.

And if you don't want Silver to know then he dosnt, as I said, since you chose not to address that comment it never happened.

Alright, fair enough.

I think its funny how upset everyone is and Skri doesn't really care. Also how Silver called them children and their response was to act like children.

Off topic, ot was pretty clear to me early on Eden was fake. All the dog and pre war talk, along with being cool.and collected

EDIT: Giga Watt was a brutal raider king who frequnetly attacked other nations. He had received the invitation by accident so Skri kind of picked up the invitation and thought it sounded good

Wait wait wait. The Under Dwellers cant raise crops. You said yourself they hate the sun, and hardly ever go out into the sunlight to begin with. And you have to have sunlight for farming. And how exactly do they herd enough animals to feed millions, and no one has noticed their exorbitance yet? Where do the keep them, the tunnels? Seems really unlikely to me.

The sauaging I have no problem with. But how exactly can they farm when they don't go into the sun to do it? Are you telling me they just leave the fields and animals in the day? Because that's ALOT of animals and fields they would need. People would take notice, of that I'm sure.

snip

There are holes in those ideas, the crop aspect is implausible as well as herding animals, it's true. The scavenging part couldn't sustain millions of people.

So long everyone, I'll reply when I get home tomorrow.

On that note, I wonder how the vote will go.

Less like children, more like individuals who believe what they preach and are willing to defend their ideals.

And you guessed he was an advanced sentient AI based upon that? Excellent detective work there Lou.

Look I'm not trying to start an argument about this, but my point was I was wanting to have Eden's status as an AI be a bit of a surprise to the delegates (aside from Bishop, since he would almost certainly know that Eden was an AI given the Vigil's close contact).

Having the UMD President just blurt it out....was sort of not what I was going for.

But Fisheye said to go ahead and ignore it so its fine.

On that note, I wonder how the vote will go.

I thought the vote was a neat idea. Gives a "United Nations" feel to the convention. Everyone loves their democracy.

But in terms of "aye" v. "nay" its going to be close. Just based upon tolerant v. anti-mutant. Might even be a tie.

Edit: Oh and I saw your post objectivist, I'll have Eden respond soon.

Crops of fungus, and herds of giant rats and mole rats and other mutated beastes. Sorry should shave been more specific, thats one of their weaknesses. Because the infighting which served as opoulation control is gone, they are struggling to feed themselves

Hey Objectivist, can you give me a run down on the machine manufacturing (ie. production of machines and things of that nature.) status of the Nevada federation at this point? I believe it's time for the BoS to start doing some actual trading, not just arguing.

Well,at this point the Nevada Federation's industrial capacity is near zero, thus the reason for foreign investors, the Nevada federation is a broken country reliant upon the security and the militias,a military cannot be recruited since there are no weapons. Our reliance is upon raw materials and fresh water. The Nevada Federation just needs time to rebuild its industry and it will go from there.

Raw materials hmm... Well, the BoS could use some of that. I believe the Chancellor may be speaking to Sinders very soon. Perhaps the BoS could help with some schematics for the factories we do have?

Sounds like a plan. I need to get a sort of alliance set up with the Enclave as well. Always been a dream of mine to see the BoS and the Enclave on the same side for once lol.

Also going to strike up a conversation with the Midwest BoS. Haha, Magus, Peregrine is exactly like I imagined your representative would be, that same sophisticated, intellectual person that Winters was in the last convention. Glad some things didn't change :)

Fisheye, are the UMD and NCR supposed to be buddies or something? They have a border that connects, they don't like the Legion, and they both are democracies of some sort.

Or is it just sort of neutral?

The UMD decided to attack the Legion on their own and did not organize it with the NCR. However I would assume we would know each other well enough and be... Warm acquaintances, not exactly buddies.

I didn't mean organize with NCR. What I mean was on good terms or something of the sort. Which from what you said, seems to be mildly good terms.

Oh, then yes, we are.

Now, since it seems both Tundra and Tiber are offline I think I'll go ahead and start up two new conversations. The NCR and HF I think.
