American Assembly: Vancouver II

Post » Thu May 16, 2013 4:46 pm

The city of Vancouver once one of the most populous cities in Canada was nearly destroyed by the global nuclear war of 2077. But like much of America has risen from those ashes. The city began to grow since nearly immediately after the war, the original Great Houses started within the confines the city, growing from their tribal origins to the rulers of a powerful nation state spanning much of southwestern Canada.

The city is the center of government for the League, and the center of trade. Vancouver is a city of wealth and prestige, home to the Great Houses and Clans of Columbia. The dges of the city are home to many factories and workshops. A great fortress is on the coast guarding the southern borders and the natural harbor. The center of the town is a shining city of tall elegant structures of marble and concrete, and of golden temples. It is there within the League’s Senate and Palace Grounds that the 3rd Annual Assembly of Nations will take place.

The Delegates of the many other nations will arrive either by rail from the north, south or east. If delegates and their respective nations so choose, they may arrive via aircraft, and take an LRV to the city center.

Delegates will be welcomed through the magnificent hall, and into a smaller council chamber where the main discussions will take place. Cushioned chairs, a large rectangular redwood table and smaller circular tables in the room’s peripheries have been setup for private discussions. Justiciars of the League are present to provide security for the League’s representatives and peace of mind for the other delegates.

The guests will be waited on by servants, having their every needs attended to. And from their location, they can overlook the sea and the beauty of a light drift of snow coming down from the heavens. Vancouver is ready and waiting for the nations of the known world to come to it, and to do their business.

The guests may now enter the shining city and prepare for diplomacy.

Continue your diplomacy!

Grandadmiral Alecs Jameson -- MIlitary Empire of Texas

With the alliance done Jameson walked over to Markson, "Hello, I am Grandadmiral Alecs Jameson, is there anything you will need from Texas?"

Philip Rosen- Free Economic Zone of New Vegas

Rosen's face soured at the continued disagreement between the potential WISP members as to the acceptance of new members. The way he saw it, they were needlessly complicating matters and causing a slowdown towards the signing of the Pact. Something he couldn't abide.

He adjusted his glasses and spoke up,

"Gentlemen, considering we cannot agree on the acceptance of either the Khans or the Syndicate. Let us forget accepting either one for the moment. We can always review our membership offers at a later date, for now, let us get this contract signed and finished just between us four. Otherwise we are going to sit here needlessly in deadlock for the next few hours."

"Agreed Mr. Rosen. Although this debating is rather fun, for the sake of progress let's move forward shall we? The last thing to go over before we sign this thing is the flag and motto correct?"

Wayne was approached by Jameson, from the Military Empire of Texas.

"Hello Mr. Jameson, yes there is something we'd like from you. The space center near Houston, I'd like any functioning missiles along with any telemetry data and research materials. I'd also like to now about any open avenues of investment in any ventures or industries you might need help funding."

"No to what, the rockets or the investments? In any case, I'm prepared to give you my counter offer, we can provide luxuries such as household appliances and vehicles among many other things. We can also provide you with a bit of military technology such as weapons and aircraft. But if you're completely hell-bent on rejecting the offer, is there anything you do have to trade?"

"Indeed it is, although it need not be agreed upon at this very moment, only that it be done sometime in the near future. Suggestions are of course, most welcome, but I would lay forth the Free Economic Zones proposal for the flag:

Rosen laid a piece of design paper on the table,

A very simply flag really. With lighter coloration, and a sun on its left side: to represent the majority of nations which exist in relatively sunny climates."

"Hmm, not bad. I can get suggestions for a new flag later on and motto. Let's instead focus on signing WISP."

"I didn't want weapons, I planned on getting a ground floor investment on a space program. That's why I wanted the rockets and telemetry data, you didn't think I was going to use them against you or anything did you?"

Wayne looked over the flag design.

"It's not in my taste personally, I prefer a bit darker colors with a different design scheme, something that looks imperialistic yet noble. But yes, Mr. Hsu is correct, let's focus on sealing the deal, we can work out the small stuff later."

Philip Rosen- Free Economic Zone of New Vegas

Once more adjusting his glasses, Rosen looked at both gentlemen as they remarked how they were eager to begin signing. He then turned to one of the aides and whispered to the man in a hushed voice. Quickly, the aide rushed out of the convention hall, and after a few moments, returned with a new freshly printed document, drawn up in perfect bold letters and a laying out the final terms of the WISP agreement,

"The final agreed upon terms gentlemen, spooled out from a computer terminal we brought with us to this convention. Now if you'll all please reexamine the contract and ensure you agree to it, and then simply sign on the appropriate place at the bottom along with your initials next to each stipulation."
