Here's the gist: You run a nation situated somewhere currently available on our most recent maps. You come up with a history, a type of government, an economy, and differing military numbers to RP with. With that you also create characters such as a President or a King, who will run this nation. The RP will be a sort of model UN in which you, as acting voice of your nation will make political, economic, etc. deals with other nations. Your goal is to advance your nation in the way of technology and whatever else, and try not to get yourself destroyed by another nation.

It's pretty fun. :P

Thanks, that clears some things up for me :D . So now that I'm more familiar with the rules can I still join or is it to late? And if its not to late, can this nation be somewhat low tech?

Go to the front page and it explains all the rules and all about low tier tech

Low tier Tech nations get considerably more soldiers but the downside is they die much easier with low tech

P.S Were still in the starting stage so yes you can join :)

It's in no way too late. This is the interest thread, so we are looking for people interested in playing.

You can surely be a low-tech nation. There are some rules of thumb you will learn as you play. Don't worry too much about numbers. The system we have here is to see what sticks, so to speak. You give out a number and we all decide whether or not it is fair or not.

Just remember that a low tech faction is allowed a large population. A high tech faction is not allowed such a large population. Each has their benefits. It's very possible for a small but high tech faction to be obliterated by a huge and low tech one, and vice-versa. Things like war are handled by votes. It's better to make allies.

Thank you very much. I like it a lot as well, it really seems to fit the type of ruler I'm going for. Plus, its different. I don't think anyone has ever used that title in these yet. I like the Council of deans idea a lot myself. I usually have something similar, but they never amount to anything whatsoever. This time though, they will.

That was one of the major reasons I chose them actually. I'm glad you thought so, because that was what I was going for :P I wanted to do the androids justice, because they are such a technological marvel, but I also didn't want them to be way out there either. Its quite the challenge as I've found out. The Commonwealth will actually be quite a bit different than my other factions, because as you correctly figured, I plan for them to be a bit more benevolent than any of my previous nations.

I left some subtle hints in there, but to make it clear, the Commonwealth is directly inspired by colonial Boston, and the mindset that prevailed around that time. Liberty is going to be a major theme for them. Well, for humans at least :P

Something I also thought would be interesting for the Commonwealth is their love of lights. That'll play a major part in their future. I was mainly inspired by Big Mountain's lights, especially at night, but the idea for them being so obsessed with it I actually derived from Dalek's Collective last time, with my own little twist. Instead of liking luxury-type stuff, they enjoy lights. And lots of 'em.

Glad my Collective had some influence, haha.

A question about these conventions: Will Mothership Zeta be of influence? I ask because the death ray strikes an area near the Great Lakes, so I'm wondering if I can make mention of such an event in my faction's history.

Yep haha. I really liked the concept, so I wanted to implement something similar with my faction. Just with it's own little twist to make it unique. I'd say a nation that's obsessive over big colorful lights is pretty unique haha.

We don't usually (or ever) consider Mothership Zeta as canon actually, since there's aliens and all that.

I'd rather it not be influenced... if the Mothership was influenced I feel like someone would make a faction where they have control of it and I'd really rather it not come to that

Alright, just wondering.

I've been trying to come up with a canonical identity for the Superior Circuit, but it's tough as it's not mentioned at all really in the Fallout series. Would anyone happen to know ANYTHING at all about the Great Lakes region in Fallout?

The best I could find was the Zeta death ray, the Survivalist and his rifle (Honest Hearts) being from Canada, and all of the stuff with the annexation of Canada.

There is also the Abbey of the Road being a bit west of the Commonwealth, which could very easily be adjusted to mean my Circuit. There is also the influential location of Ronto (Toronto, possibly) being quite close to the Circuit.

Thank you very much Andro, I appreciate it.

No pain at all, I was thinking the same thing.

Yes sir, I see and http://i.imgur.com/wq4bmtq.png it a bit. A compromise and a sort of truce would be nice to see, ceratainly. As for armor, not all of it was altered, there are still suits leftover that have that signature look. I just didn't want my most esteemed and valued troops to be clad in the armor of another nation, especially since I'd rather imagine them all to be in T-45d and save the image of the APA for when I play the Enclave at some time. I didn't really consider him at all in the takeover of the Capital Wasteland and thought of him to be non-canon, just no need to throw him in there.

Also, as to the Cold War-esque scenario, I like it. I approve of it more than I did raids and I can't wait to write it out. I'll shoot you a message. Oh and great rewritten sheet by the way, very, very interesting and unique.

Edit: Dalek, perhaps the Circuit and Ronto are regional rivals and the reason we hear of them in the Pitt during Fallout 3 is that they've been pushing Ronto back, toward the Pitt's domain and that's the reason Ronto itself has been a more prevalent topic with Ashur and his people.

Also, what font did you use for your nation's name?

I've already come up with a bit of backstory with Aldin. Thanks anyway for the input though.

As for the font, I believe it was MS paint's "Collona MT". Something along those lines. There are two variants, an all caps and a natural text. I used the natural text version as it's what we've always used.

You're welcome, I tried to lend a hand anyhow. :D

Thank you very much, I'd forgotten what exactly it was. A new map should be done soon.

Edit: http://i.imgur.com/Qq9STXj.png it is, let me know if you think it should be smaller, or any other concern. I couldn't find the right font for the life of me, so if anyone wants to redo the name, I'd be in your debt.

Why is the Sierra Madre Dominion so far east? The Sierra Madre Casino is already known to be just southeast of New Vegas, just around where my old Sierra Collective was.

I'm wondering because I figure that the Brotherhood would have stuck close to the source of their holograms and such. Plus it's quite a move away.

Anywho, I didn't think even your original Imperium was too large. The size is fine now, and I thought it was fine before.

What other nations still need to be grafted onto the blank map? I think the blank map would be a good thing to use so we can add the standard NCR, Caesar's Legion, etc. factions in afterward.

Okay this is the faction I've created. I don't know if this is how I enter this faction into the group but if Lt. Andronicus could put this in there that would be great. I'm sorry if I've done this wrong and if theirs anything that I did wrong please let me know as I'm sure there is.

Name: The Federation

Flag: Picture of many hands coming together to hold an axe handle, symbolizes unity and strength.

Government: Dictatorship

History: Originally they started in Washington. They were nothing but small tribal groups. They often made there livings as raiders. Attacking any caravans they happened to pass. One man however was not satisfied with this. Not much is known about this man except that he is known only as The Securis. He became known as this because of his use of an axe as a weapon. The Securis grew up in a small tribe in northern Washington. He and his tribe carried on with there normal ways of life, which included raiding and killing caravans and passerby's. He however was not satisfied. He challenged his groups leader to become the head tribesmen. After a brutal battle, the Securis came out on top. He led his tribe through Wahington. Along the way he conquered tribes and negotiated with them to become part of his own. Finally, the tribes were united. They were able to take on much larger caravans and quickly became feared for there sheer strength in numbers. Now the tribes were one. They have now set there eyes on an even larger nation. One that will be capable of conquering even the strongest of armies. The Securis and his council have formed, The Federation.

Population: 5,000,000

Religion: All are extremely loyal to the Securis. Many tend to worship him as a god.

Territory: They control Washington

Economy: The Federation's economy is a very traditional economy. They trade with with nations in the east and things don't change very much.

Military: The tribes military is very large. Its main force is about 450,000 strong. It also includes a couple thousand scouts. The Securis is its main commander.

Views on mutation and slavery: The tribes generally don't care much for slavery. Most of the people do the work themselves and couldn't afford slaves anyway. There views on mutation are largely the same, so long as the mutants work and do there part, there okay with them.

Tech level: Low tech

(Note: Any of this can be changed if it doesn't follow the rules and what not.)

That sheet, in my opinion, just needs more time put into it. Your layout doesn't really match the standard template we use and leaves more than a few things unspecified.

It tends to go something like this:

Name:

Flag:

History:

Government-Type:

Economy:

Technology:

Military:

Religion:

Views on Mutation:

Views on Slavery:

Territory:

Population:

Also, a more specific name would be a huge plus, I think.

Anyway, I hope this helps.

Alec, just to let you know, you could likely have a much, much larger population if you would like, as in 5 million or more. This is, of course, assuming that your faction is truly 'low-tech', that is, primarily using pre-gunpowder or early gunpowder weaponry with a small smattering of modern and conventional arms. In addition, you'd also likely be without power in most settlements, have and undeveloped economy, and the like. Don't let me make you think that this is bad, though, as Low-tech nations can be rather effective.

In addition, you have also left out a few categories, namely culture, military, and economy, all of which tend to play a rather large part in these RPs. I'm not trying to be a jerk, just trying to assure that you have the most enjoyable time possible in this RP :). Just keep in mind, we may not start this for a while longer, so you certainly have plenty of time to further craft your sheet, if you so wish.

Thanks I wasn't sure what to put into it . I'll definitely fix it right away. About the flag thing though, Is it possible to skip that? Unless you actually want me to draw one by hand, in which case it will probably svck. :touched:

I'd say that you could skip it, if you wish. I too have no skill in crafting pictures like the others here, so instead I'm simply describing my flag. You could do that as well, if you wish.

Nope, the flag is totally optional. It's really only there in case you feel like making one.
