Not to mention they'd be cut off from supplies and undoubtedly suffer causalities on the march down.

Huh. So it's pretty much impossible. Oh well I guess. No harm in maintaining good relations.

Certainly no harm in that.

Anyway, if anyone wants to talk to the Commonwealth, feel free to do so, unless you want to talk to the Potentate. He's busy watching the fight/waiting for the Enclave to finish. Harkness and William are open though.

Yeah like I said, you can ally with them and have good relations and all that, but when push comes to shove you can't really expect to be able to do much for each other.

Not really, its mostly just countries.

You could make a merchant republic or something.

It's possible, I suppose, though making it something more akin to a megacorporation (like the East India Company, for example, with land, a military and the like all within another nation(s) ) or a corporate run nation-state (kind of like Andro's Paradigm Consortium, I think) would be advisable, in my opinion.

Anyway, did you have anything specific in mind?

My "nation" is essentially a corporation with land and a paramilitary force. So yes.

It might be better to claim land for your company, but I'm sure a "landless" corporation could be successfully RP'd as well.

Alright thanks,

It would a be a merchant company/nation run by a family with each C.E.O. being the child of the past one. We'd have control over Southernmost Louisiana and up the Mississippi river. The only difference would be that land controlled by the company would kinda be like free-land I.E. no strict control or laws.

Buisnesse and companies are always welcome. Dosent ha ve to be neccesarily countrues. In the 1st one I remember when Tandiman played as Tenpenny Corp within the Enclave which I Rped.

Needless to say, it would be nice if we got some Rpers doing some minor factions. Rembmer when Agrona did FoTa? That was nice. We could see someone RPing as the Abbey of the Road (Not sure what the Commonwealth's stance was on them), etc.

Huh, that sounds interesting. I had originally planned to have New Orleans as one of my heavily fortified port cities- a city that would be focussed on trade in the region and extracting its resources- but it's certainly not all that important to my faction. Either that or we could intermingle in some way, if you'd wish. If it's the latter, then feel free to shoot me a PM.

That'd be a bit difficult, because they're sort of...dead :P After Harkness got his personality corrupted and was turned into the Virtus Division's leader, the Commonwealth sent him and the rest of Virtus Division after the Abbey to wipe them out because they aided escaping androids. I think I put all that in my FS, but I might have forgot. I discussed it with Dalek at any rate.

I suppose the Abbey of the Road could exist elsewhere, but in the Commonwealth, they were viciously persecuted.

Huh, interesting way you wrote out their fate.

They could have possibly fleed up North and return to just being secualr Christian priests. Just a suggestion.

Yup. I liked the irony of the whole thing, they tried to help Harkness, but yet it was Harkness who ended up killing them :P

I suppose that's possible, but the Commonwealth will be moving expanding up in that direction. They're branded as terrorists, so if they want to make peace, they'd have to have a darn good excuse for what they did. "What you did/do is immoral" isn't exactly going to cut it with the Potentate :P

Also, just a general note to everyone, the Imperium is in the market of selling high-quality conventional firearms and could perhaps be persuaded into some energy weapons' sales. They could also supply armor and if the price is right, some power armor.

By the way, Mr. Enclave, I kind of need a reply from your folks.

It's possible for certain nations to grow higher in tech level, correct?

Assuming they can acquire the needed things to advance?

I mean, very high tech nations that expand will eventually get large, well armed troops, so I assume its possible for very low tech nations to eventually make their way up in technology? Not over the course of a few months, or through a few trades, but I mean eventually kinda thing.

Eh.....yes and no. You can advance your technology to a limited degree through making deals with advanced factions (or conquering advanced factions), but you can never actually become any higher than your original Tier.

That would be extremely unbalanced otherwise. Because generally, higher factions grow population in direct proportion to lower tier factions. So a Tier 5 nation suddenly being able to pump out power armor and energy weapons because they made a few deals just wouldn't be fair to us Tier 1 factions.

Just keep in mind what your faction could and couldn't reasonably produce.

Bottom line, everyone generally keeps their population and technology level in proportion.

Something tells me the Imperium doesn't have a high opinion of the Neo-Aztecs.

There's other Tier 1 factions as well.

Of course something like a tier five, large nation being able to produce power armour would be over powered within a few trades, but what I am getting at, is that over time (possibly at least five years, with a good reason for becoming more advanced), it is possible for say, a tier 5 to become a tier 3?

Perhaps it should come to a vote? Whether or not a person can go to the next level kinda thing. They need to provide a reasonable explanation in their one year report kinda thing, saying the nation has gron to such and such, or they have downgraded.

I kinda made my faction with the intent of eventually gaining a better technology level. At the moment, it is a tier four, and I have plans to eventually up the technology and weapons available to a degree (most likely tier three after a few converences, then maybe tier three.)

Well, I was thinking I could send the Emperor in to apologize on Bird-man's behalf and try to get better relations.

But, loner anger, are your dudes willing to forgive the Aztecs for doing nothing wrong
