Faction Name: Australia-New Zealand Alliance

Description/History: Years before the Great War the Australians started their own Vault Projects with funds they had gathered from selling the last of their nations coal reserves to nations all over the world. Most of these were small and only designed for one hundred people each, most were empty during the Great War. There were larger Vaults, most of these were used by the military to store their equipment and were assigned a small garrison. Two of these were used to house members of the military and one housed Government officials. These Vaults were completely occupied one week before the War.

They remained occupied and isolated from the world for nearly a century after the Great War. The Military Vaults were the first to open. Soldiers from those Vaults immediately armed themselves with weapons from each of the storage vaults near them. The outside world had surprised them however, Australia had recovered from the Great War and was now populated by a large number of Kingdoms,Tribes and City-States. The Largest of which was New Zealand, which was almost completely spared by the Great War. Seeing no remains of the original government the soldiers joined New Zealand in the famous alliance of New Sydney.

The King of New Zealand was now the head of the largest and most well equipped military in Australia and began what is know known as ANZA. Many of the neighboring countries joined the alliance. Others were conquered in eighty years the continent would finally be reunited under the control of his grandson.

The Government Vault opened shortly after the formation of ANZA, but it's inhabitants were massacred by a large group of raiders. Who sold the vault to the Governor of Perth shortly after. They were finally brought to justice three years later.

Once Australia was reunited, ANZA began to improve it's infrastructure by connecting the great cities of New Perth and New Sydney with railroads. Scientists started looking for new ways to bring electricity to the nation. The most popular were solar power, and hydroelectricity. Scientists have worked on ways to power the nation with nuclear power, which has recently been adopted by the navy to power their ships.

Under their current ruler, Queen Anna, the size of the military has increased and part of New Guinea have been conquered. She also plans to expand her nation by conquering nations north of ANZA. An Expedition to America also began.

ANZA discovered that America was populated and another expedition team was sent to come into contact with the local population. Lord James Flinders was placed as the head of this expedition.

Government Type: Monarchy

Economy: The core of ANZA's economy is based in mining and sheep herding. The Mines are officially owned by the Queen, but nobles handle their administration.

Australian Defense Force

The Australian Defense Force is primarily concerned with the defense of ANZA. They are divided into seven regiments: The Western Regiment, The Central Regiment, The Northern Regiment, The Southern Regiment, The New Zealand Regiment, The New Guinea Regiment, and The Ghoul Regiment.

The Western Regiment: This Regiment recruits from the state of West Australia. The majority of their recruit are from the Major City of New Perth and surrounding areas. They are primarily made up of infantry. Like all of the major regiments they are mostly concerned with keeping prisoners in line.

6,000 Soldiers

The Central Regiment: They Recruit from the state of Central Australia. Despite the size of the state they are one of the smaller regiments. They are ill equipped compared to the rest of the military, most of the troops carry semi-automatic rifles and wear no armor. However they have more combat experience than the rest of the ADF, due to constant combat with bandits and raiders.

The Northern Regiment: The second largest regiment in the ADF. Most of their forces protect the northern coast from pirates. Which is an extremely easy job since pirates are afraid of the Royal Australian Navy.

The Southern Regiment: The largest and the best equipped regiment in the ADF. They do not cooperate well with the rest of the army and prefers to stay in Southern Australia, which is the most heavily fortified region within ANZA.

The New Zealand Regiment: Since New Zealand isn't threatened by many this is the smallest regiment. Most of New Zealand's population that joins the military join the navy or the air force. Most of the regiment has never seen combat experience.

The New Guinea Regiment: Mainly made up of former tribals. Most of the regiment doesn't wear armor or even use guns. Has the highest casualty rate in the ADF due to constant raids into New Guinea, which are always repelled since the rest of the military never helps them.

The Ghoul Regiment: Since most regiments within the ADF won't accept ghouls, Military Leaders created another regiment consisting entirely of ghouls. Unlike the other regiments they help the rest of the military by scouting irradiated areas and clearing them of ferals and other mutants.

The Royal Australian Navy: The RAN was created to hunt the sea monsters that surrounded the ANZA. However they grew into one of the largest forces within the military. Originally the navy consisted of patrol boats and cargo ships armed with howitzers. Now it has advanced into one of the most powerful navies in the Pacific. There are 40 ships within the navy and twice as many PT-boats.

The Royal Australian Air-Force: The air-force is the newest addition to the military. Despite being new it has become one of the largest if not the largest air-force within the Pacific. Their is a small number of elite paratroopers within the RAAF.

The Royal Australian Marines: The Marines are the most disciplined and best equipped soldiers within the military. They are the offensive force within the Australian military. Half of the Marines wear a lighter version of combat armor the other half wear Kevlar vests. They have access to the best weapons in the ANZA. They also have access to a large number of Howitzers.

Religion: The Government is secular, but there are many religions within the ANZA.

Views on Mutation: Most of the Australian population despise mutants. However, the Military and Nobility have found some use for ghouls and has granted them protection from the common folk, as long as they do not cause trouble.

Views on Slavery: Prisoners are practically slaves within ANZA.
