Ammo Clip Size

Post » Wed May 18, 2011 2:01 am

Im tired of people complaining about the ammo clip size, and the amount of overall ammo. There is a reason for that.

1st off your team should have a soldier. SOLDIERS GIVE AMMO. THIS GAME IS ABOUT TEAMWORK.

2nd. People say they will be shooting somebody, and have to reload and get killed. You are suppose to stay on the move, making it hard for you to get shot. Maybe thats why you can climb walls, slide under stuff, vault over objects, and jump off walls.

Haven't heard many clip size complaints, except that AR clips hold less than SMGs (which ignores the higher RoF and lower damage).

Mostly totall ammo limit complaints, which SHOULD be balanced out pretty clearly by the fact that any competent Soldier will keep the team stocked when they're running low.

Also, people need to be willing to actually USE their secondaries - they're not just for decoration, guys...

And how about returning fire?

Ive noticed the controls do not take kindly to finer more accurate movements and are more clunky, and less then ideal for those fine adjustments on sighting.

Ammo is still an issue because even as a soldier, running out of ammo happens all the damn time. 2-3 magazines per gun is not enough. it should be more like 4-5. You know, like what normal people would logically carry?

Just because the game is about teamwork doesn't mean they should castrate people if they don't do it the whole time

I agree completely. The FramesPS svcks and makes fine adjustments a chore unto themselves, and the game shouldn't "castrate" you when a team of randoms (or moronic AI) doesn't give you the ammo buff when you need it.

Meh, I play as a soldier and I seldom run out of ammo really. My teammates run out of ammo all the time so it makes my job just as effective as a medic.

The first two posts are dead on and Echonite 4-5 mags is not realistic at all and also they are trying to keep it challenging at the same time as encouraging teamwork. I am a soldier and funny enough people are dropping it for the more unique and fancy classes but i love it and keep my ammo stocked and my mates stocked as well as the majority of the time im moving reloading and letting friends get loads off me.
People seem to forget that falling back and recovering is a fine and mostly sensible practice.

Frames are 30fps for everyone unless you have set your gfx too high and thats your fault.
Also if fine adjustments are hard try moving your body instead or just burst fire so your ratio of bullets making contact goes up.
The whole point is the game should castrate you for not being aware enough of your ammo and not using voip to call for your teammates.
I have played alot with the AI (never had a problem with how dumb they were) i seemed to be competent enough to deal with them and also treat them as a team that i stick with til its clear for me to move ahead. They also buffed me fine and alot more than i needed and even when i was a soldier.

I only voted yes as I am a Bulpdaun user with no drum mag capability, otherwise it's fine. To be fair the gun is good enough for me anyway and a drum would probably render it OP, not to mention the reality factor that Bullpup weapons can't really use them without being awkward for the user anyway.

I am one of those soldier who does refill others, to the point I have none left for myself. It is nice when you have a whole team who shares and you run into a battle fully buffed up to max.

Last I checked, standard issue vests in the military have pockets for at least 4 magazines, and thats being bare bones. And I know compairing reality to games is generally a poor idea, considering that it takes on average 95% of a magazine to take someone down, not counting missed shots, 2-3 magazines goes fast. And as a med-soldier, keeping myself and others stocked with ammmo is straining, specially on the offensive team.

I fall back all the time. Its my standard play tactic. But unfortunately, with the current setup, the longer you live, the more straining it is on supplies. Its often faster and easier just to die to replenish ammo. Im a casual gamer when it comes to shooters. I am in no way a pro.

30fps is not good enough compared to other games with 60fps+. The fact is, fine adjustments feel clunky compared to other games is all I mean by that. Factor in the laggy/rubberbanding when you are playing with actual players online and the problem is amplified even more.

I play mostly as a soldier and I already feel like I can't do enough for the team most of the time (when I compare myself to engineers or medics), so don't take the only thing I'm usually good for! :D

I even give you an extra mag!

Also remember to use the command posts for restocking ammo.
Just tapping use while looking at them gives you full ammo again. Don't exhaust your soldiers if there's a command post 3 seconds to your right.

I play as a Light Operative, going behind enemy lines and staying away from friendlies for extended periods, and rarely run out of ammo with my Galactic. When I do, I have my Bolgo to fall back on, which is usually sufficient to get me back to friendly territory for resupply.

And this is even while I'm working with the stupid friendly AI, so it's not the fact that I have great teammates.

When I use other weapons, I generally do so as a Medic (although sometimes I will be a Soldier.

Being careful and sensible, I'll rarely find myself running out of ammo as a Medic. I DO often run out of ammo for my PRIMARY WEAPON ONLY, but I still have something else to fall back on, so it's no big deal.

Are you people forgetting you carry two guns, or are you actually managing to pour out your ammo for both weapons?

Last I checked, your primary weapon is supposed to be your... primary weapon. At the very least they got the ammo counts backwards. Your secondary is supposed to be your last resort weapon for when all else fails. Why is it the main weapon we use then?

ammo seems fine. the fact there are very few soldiers shows it must be ok. i rarely run out of ammo.

on a side note, can we pickup dead character's weapons? i havent seen a way to do it. as a battlefield vet its a pretty useful thing to do. im not talking then whole kit just the weapon they were using when they died

Am I the only one that switches to my secondary weapon if my primary runs out in the middle of a firefight? I think I have more pistol kills than anything else, but it is a funny moment when you realize the enemy is not firing back because they're spazzing with their reload.

Then you realize you're doing it too and it becomes a dance recital.

But no, I don't think ammo capacity or clip size is an issue.

^^ This

Not sure why anyone would want to try to reload while they're being shot at.

Makes me wonder sometimes, the amount of kills I get on reloaders is huge. I rarely see anyone switching weapon instead.
They probably think I am a hacker as I can get three kills between my Bulpdaun and my MP7 lookalikee before having to get in cover and reload, as a light character.

That sometimes can be a long walk and it's not always the best idea if you're completing an objective. If I run out of ammo as a soldier and have no pips, using scavenge is really helpful.

most of the time its okay. the only thing that ist weird is that you have a smg with 160 rounds or something total.
and your pimary weapon an ar has just 90 bullets total.
ill have a look at that again in a few days. now im playing a soldier without any ammo problems.

Ammo size are fine, especially when you level up and start getting the Drum Magazines that can almost double your ammo count.

The magazine sizes aren't problems at all.

You can always get more ammo at a command post or a soldier can refill your ammo. ... and if you are a soldier you can refill your own.
