Ammo customiation

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 2:15 pm

Okay so I looked around and couldn't really find anything on this and it has been on my mind so here it is. What would you think if they made it in the game where you could also choose what type of ammo your gun could use (ofcourse has to be unlocked like all weapon mods). I know the game will be out soon so this idea maybe pointless but just something I thought of for a topic to see peoples opinions and ideas. Like here is a list of things I thought of for ammo.

Shotguns: Bolo rounds, Dragons Breath shells (both slugs and buckshot), slugs, Flechette, exploding tip, buckshot, birdshot

Rifles (and some heavy and smg's): Incendiary, Armor Piercing, Regular (like just the normal for whatever caliber it is), Incendiary Armor Piercing (yes all in one lol), Tracer equipped (like your normal ammo plus having tracers in the mix)

Grenade Launchers: HE, Fragmentation. White Phosphorous, Fuel Air Burst, Stun (like less damage in game but knocks them down longer), Flash, Sticky (like somehow make it slow them down with some kinda sticky substance around the area)

Pistols: Same as Rifles but less damage of course.

Yea but I mean like something other than a skill, like a different part of weapon mods and such

This. And also, not a pointless question/discussion.
I'm aware of the fact that Soldier has the ability to give what I would call 'ammo buffs'.

Actually quite keen to the whole idea of it myself.

Just thought it would be interesting to discuss. Because there is a plethora of ammo types out there, but I listed basically the top ones that would be thought of.

There won't be an option to choose your ammo type. Soldiers can hand out special ammo though, so at least you'll be able to get something different from time to time.

Incendiary Armor Piercing (yes all in one lol)

Forget that. These days, it's hollow point full-metal jacket magnum steelcore saboted ballistic tip armor-piercing incendiary explosive corrosive high-voltage rounds.

Because if the hollow point doesn't work, then the full-metal jacket, magnum, steelcore, ballistic tip, et cetera will get him. And if the hollow point and full-metal jacket don't work, then the magnum, steelcore, ballistic tip, et cetera will get him, and so on and so forth.

The proper military term for pulling something like that off is "hacking life".

I like the idea of having tracers, maybe they could increase hip-fire accuracy for slightly worse stealth on the radar(Perhaps make you visible longer as a red dot on the radar for a second).

Well hip fire and aiming down the sight, I guess the drawback would be like in real life where you see a tracer you know exactly where that shot is from because of the trail an such

i know how to have a hollow point/ ballistic tip. ballistic tip is on top of the hollow point. but not permanently attached. ie would help with range, accuracy, and armor peircing abilities. but once it got enough resistance from the target. it would break off and veer in anothe direction to cause all kinds of havoc. then the hollow point can get to work :)

I guess this question would be on topic, does anyone know if when the soldier hands out ammo, does he only give one mag of that ammo or does he upgrade all of the ammo that you were carrying?

The Soldier always fills up as much ammo as possbile.

But like the medic can only buff your health by one bar at ability Level 1, the soldier probably can only hand out one mag at ability Level 1.
