Gimme a break, metal heads are so e of the most normal well adjusted people on earth, don't take one example and lump us all In the same basket, I have never seen or heard of anything bad happening at metal shows, I have heard however of people being [censored] at country shows, but I don't hold that against the whole genre, metal is seriously the most misunderstood genres of music, as a proud metal head who also listens to a wide variety of music, doesn't kill animals, doesn't own a gun and a

Metal is like a brotherhood, there is no other genre of music like it, we are all one big happy family.

30 years of being a Maiden fan. I`ll be listening to them while playing Skyrim.

I like a wide range but they will always be the Gods of Metal for me :mohawk:

Most professional death metal singers are familiar with how to do it correctly.

Fair enough.

Metal is like a brotherhood, there is no other genre of music like it, we are all one big happy family.

I'd argue that the hippies were even bigger and hap... Well at least they were one big stoned family... Man I wish I would have been young during the late 60s.
Punk rockers are also pretty close, oh and then we have the gangsta rappers(though I don't think they are all happy with eachother).

When I was a kid, during the weekends the hard rockers would gang together and fight the greasers, they even tipped over a police car once,
but that was in the early 90s, I was like 1-3 years old. Nowdays you just have the wannabe gangsta rappers walking around here, acting big but never really doing anything... Kinda boring.

I completely agree. It's funny when you say "I like Metal", people look at you strangely and then they begin to say the typical things as "your music is no more than shouting" (as they shout, claiming that Metal is like that) and take Marylin Manson "habits" as the ones of every metalhead.

Yup, as cliche'd as it is, people are still judging books by their cover.
Marillyn Manson is actually a pretty cool guy. I watched some of his interviews and he's very down to earth, and intelligent.

By the way guys, I think this thread doesn't belong in Skyrim's section anymore

Yes, well, with "Marilyn Manson habits" I was referring to the general ide people have. I'm sure everything is said about him are half-lies, if not lies. I didn't find a better example.

Can't go wrong with Live for the Kill, Tattered Banners and Bloody Flags and Guardians of Asgard.

One of the few metal bands that can pull off that token black metal sound, with symphonic backdrop. Most resort to rasp shouting and incoherent guitar riffs.

@Grovestream

I just mean for example when a metalhead sees another metalhead on the street we always say hellp, or give each other a smile, a nod, the devil sign, etc, sometimes friends even come out of it, and at shows, i have yet to see a fight, people get a long really well, and if someone falls while moshing or whatever someone is always there to help them up. I don't see that closeness in everyday life in any other genre of music today.

I think you mean Death Metal, not Black Metal. There's quite a big difference. (Also, they're Melodic Death Metal, not ordinary Death Metal.)

Also, why can't I see anyone being excited about the new album? Am I the only one who likes it?

You're right, Black Metal is Satanic, Death Metal is not. I type as fast as thought comes to me, unfortunately, you can't really stutter and correct yourself like that on a forum. I could go back and correct it, but I'll just own the mistake like a man.

Ugly

Both Black metal and Death metal can have satanic iconography and themes, true its how black metal began, but its not always the case anymore, its more about the sound of the music than anything, different play style, different vocals etc :P
