Amount Of Quests

Post » Wed Sep 21, 2011 1:15 pm

Sorry I don't have the link but:

Someone asked Pete how many quests there are in the game and he answered
"Because of Radiant Story stuff, it's hard to put a number on it. It's probably about 5x the size of Fallout 3, for comparison."

I haven't played FO3 so i was wondering about how many are in Fall Out 3?

what did he mean side quests or main story quest?

EDIT:

i just looked it up it appears fallout 3 had 17 side quests and 11 main quests, and if you count the DLCs it all come to 45 quests.

so if you take 17 side quests x5 = 85 side quests.

Yes.

There was also about 10 or so unmarked mini "quests" (did not appear in journal), but I dont think those count.

I don't think Pete would know how many quests there are... he didn't really even know about decapitations.

I'm guessing he just meant all quests because he didn't specify between side or main

I think 150 would be plenty, even if 100 of them are RAI quests.

150... so about 3/4s of Oblivion's amount?

I expect them to be longer and more involved than Oblivions.

Fallout 3 had 67 quests. So, 335 quests for Skyrim. Oblivion had about 180 quests.

Fallout 3 + official DLC had 67 quests (no DLC had about 33). Oblivion without DLC or any expansion had about 220 quests. I don't think DLC are being counted in the Fallout 3 estimate... especially since any person in PR will try to make what they say sound as good as possible as long as it's still technically true. Fallout 3's DLC were not Fallout 3.

Lol I'm not saying that numbers > quality, but 5xFO3 is still very very few! I was expecting something more than 300. I think they are overly optimistic about 300 hours of gaming, unless the quests send you (again) from a corner of the map to the other.

About 30 in FO3.

3 Tutorial Quests.
11 Main Quests.
17 Side Quests.
20 Unmarked Quests.
16 Repeatable Quests (Like "If you give me some water, I will gave you a coin." Repeatable)
4 Anchorage Quests.
6 Pitt Quests.
6 Broken Steel Quests.
10 Outlook Quests.

All of Them = 93 x 5 = 465
All of Them without Repeatable Quests = 77 x 5 = 385
All of Them without Repeatable and Unmarked Quests = 57 x 5 = 285
Just Fallout 3 = 67 x 5 = 335
Just Fallout without Repeatable Quests = 51 x 5 = 255
Just Fallout 3 without Repeatable and Unmarked Quests = 31 x 5 = 155

IMO: Any of those numbers seems fine to me. And Pete doesn't seems to know a "exact" number.

There was about 50 quests in Fallout 3 including unmarked ones. (I can assume Skyrim will have those miscellaneous-type of quests as well) So there is a possibility to be 250 quests in Skyrim.
Edit:
I did not include DLC in those numbers.

Fallout 3 = 67 Quests.
Oblivion = 232 Quests.
Skyrim = 335 Quests. (Considering that Skyrim has 100 more hours of content than Oblivion. This number includes the repeatable quests in Fallout3)

With no exact number given, and the past knowledge of pete, its not safe to say, but any of those numbers are fine.

Come on people, those umarked "quests" were not really quests. Pete was not counting those.

There are 33 quests in FO3.

We don't know. Or he said "Just the Quests that appears in your Journal?" He didn't. That's just your interpretation.
Also, that's why I did the count in different ways at the end of my post. Because of the vague comment by Pete.
