Sort of random post, this is just an assumption. But yes, one could assume there will be thousands of types of weapons and armor.

Dude, are you being sarcastic or are you thrilled to see different variations to fight? Please give us something to discuss.

It's only been a half hour. :P

So does the OP wish to talk about anything in particular or should we let this thread die?

Try to be a bit more clear next time, the emoticon you picked didn't seem too happy

Now, about weapons:

I would love to see the return of Adamantium tier weaponry and armor (heavy of course  )

There are 13 types of ore, lets see if I can crank em out:

Iron
Steel
Silver
Glass
Ebony
Daedric
Adamantium
Mithril
Dwarven
Elven

There's 10 so far

I think that would have to be the case. The only way I could see Daedric metal being harvested without it being ridiculous is if it was located at a Daedric temple of some sort, and even then that's rather improbable.

Edit: The likely answer is you forge, say, an ebony hammer, and if you kill a daedra, their soul goes right to any ebony metal nearby instead of back to Oblivion. But then you have to forge the spirit into the metal for it to transform.

Or perhaps you wont be able to forge Daedric weapons/armor at all, and their like is very rare.

"Fire deals the highest amount of damage, lighting/shock deals less damage, but drains the enemy's magicka, while frost deals the least damage, but drains stamina and slows down enemies physically."
WOAH! Things are starting to get interesting!

From previous thread:

1 Iron (steel is Iron + Coal)
2 Silver
3 Gold (Jewellery? Rings and Pendants as "smithing" can mean more than just weapon smithing, as in Goldsmith)
4 Mithril
5 Glass (Ebony and Glass both come from the now erupted Red Mt. and mined in destroyed Vvardenfell so their existence as a gatherable raw material is suspect)
6 Ebony (Possibly can be ritually enchanted with Deadra essence to become Deadric)
7 Adamantium
8 Tin
9 Copper (Tin + Copper = Bronze)
10 Stalhrim
11 Coal
12 Zinc (Copper + Zin = Brass)
13

Steel is not an ore, it is an alloy.

Can't think of how Amber or Madness would fit.

Someone mentioned that there was a (in game?) book that claimed Orc armour was made from a unique Ore, anyone know the reference?

Old news. But it is interesting. I'd have rathered they kept unique secondary effects without changing damage values for frost and shock. Unfortunately we can't have everything we want lol (and god Todd said let there be mods)

Ahh, thank you for this interesting list.

As for Orcish armor, my source indicates it is another version of steel

But I'll check the books and find out

Good sources on the Orc armour. Dwarven is indicated to be from a rare unique material..... and there are confirmed ruins...... number 13?
