After running across references in old threads, I've come to understand that AmpolX released a number of high-quality texture packs which are no longer available. I've located an old v1 of several on PES, a newer Gold Coast on TES Alliance, and of course the cavern textures. However, there are apparently many more, and newer, packs that were released in the past.

Here follow the most recent relevant quotes I was able to locate, from the author:







From my limited understanding, AmpolX has limited bandwidth and is no longer interested in supporting the old packs, particularly due to prior requests for various changes I.E. people asking for detailed terrain support to be added. It appears that AmpolX for these and other reasons does not want the texture packs uploaded to public mod sites. I do not want to do anything to upset AmpolX, particularly given the impression that problems have previously arisen. However, I am definitely interested in locating the excellent work that was previously released .

Me too. AmpolX's textures are great.

It does sound as if AmpolX is okay with placing his work online. If that's the case, is someone willing to step forward to administer the files?

Sadly, those are the only instances of the rare and great works of AmpolX that I've been able to locate on my old drive.

Just to clarify, my impression from AmpolX's posts is that it's not okay to post the files on public mod sites like TES Nexus, TES Alliance, etc. However it sounds to me like AmpolX is okay with recent versions of things being posted on sites like 4shared and the links being passed around in forum threads.

With reference to what you've got, it sounds like the ATP Gold Coast v2 and ATP Roads v2 are the only things that qualify. Unless you have more info on the version of the Colovian Highlands and/or Great Grasses.

While I'm eager to locate and try out these textures, I expect that I'd make for a poor administrator of such a collection .

Colovian Highlands is also v2 judging from the directory name in the rar. Oddly, enough, so is Blackwood in spite of the filename. The Great Grasses has no indication if it's a "1.0" or "2.0" release.

The v2.0 stuff you've got would be great . At the same time, still hoping someone will pass by who has the collected v3.0 works .

There are people who have them, but believe me, I've already tried to sway them to upload them to no avail. Basically AmpolX hasn't officially gave permission that his worked can be shared or re-distributed. So, that is where the buck ends. If you want AmpolX's work, your best bet is to kindly ask him in a PM. Maybe we will get lucky and AmpolX will find some time to re-up his work... You never know. Skyrim can bring out the best in all of us.

Please read the first post . I've quoted AmpolX's forum posts here indicating exactly what permissions are and aren't available. Although it's not permitted to upload to public sites like the Nexus, AmpolX does seem to have given permission to share recent versions of things on sites like 4shared, etc.





It's hard for me to tell what version everything is without having the packs like you two do, but please check them out . If they meet the criteria AmpolX set out for sharing, I'd sure like to see them .

That doesn't exactly sound like the ringing endorsemant people seem to think it is. If this is the only indicator of permission people are acting on, I'd strongly suggest abandoning the idea entirely. This is about as weak as it gets.

He was active here as recently as August this year..... email is listed as private, has anyone tried to PM him, and ask?

To clarify that statement in context, for a number of the packs AmpolX released versions up to ATP v3. He apparently had past issues with people being overly critical or something which I gather is part of why he took everything down? So he's particularly against people uploading older versions rather than the newer ones which he obviously created to be superior replacements. Thus not being keen on people sharing v2 of packs for which a v3 exists.

This is of course made more difficult due to the fact that while few people seem to have the v2 packs, even fewer have the v3 packs. They seem to have been online for less time before everything was taken down. In fact, if anyone even has a comprehensive list of what versions were created for what packs that would be an enormous help in clarifying which versions are ok to share. Although a number of ATP v3 things were released, I have no idea which ones and I'm sure that there are a few things for which v1 was the latest (only) version made.



Many, many people have tried asking AmpolX and he gets frustrated when people do so. However he has given certain specific limited permissions for others to share recent versions of his works amongst themselves.
