Amusei Missing for Arrow of Extrication

Hi,

Please, please, please someone help me!

I've been playing this game on PS3 for over 100+ hours, and am currently doing the Arrow of Extrication for the Thieves Guild questline. After fencing over 800 gold (I'm actually at 1300 gold now), I am currently just waiting for Amusei to show up and give me the quest. I've been waiting for so long and he just never shows up.

I've waited for 30 in-game days at just outside of the Imperial City gate west of Talos Plaza District.

I've checked the supposed meeting place with Gray Fox in Chorrol.

I've checked the previous place I met with Gray Fox in Bruma.

I've tried deleting and reinstalling Oblivion game file.

I've went to jail. I've paid fine.

I've tried getting kicked out of Thieves Guild and paying to rejoin.

I've asked Bethesda if they can tinker with my save file.

I've tried everything to no avail.

I realized that I shouldn't have fenced over the designated amount by too much, but it's too late now and I just need to know if there's any other way to fix this.

Is there no other option to fix this apart from reloading an older save file or restarting the game? Where is Amusei?

I have to go back at least 50 hours to get this fixed because I did other quests after I reached my fencing requirement before deciding to continue by Thieves Guild questline. I'm not even sure if I even still have the save file as I may have overwrote it.

I'm currently playing GOTY edition.

Please help me!

From UESP:

A serious bug involving Amusei can prevent you from ever joining the Thieves Guild and destroy the entire questline. If you visit Castle Leyawin and pick the lock of the last cell in the Dungeon before having joined the Guild, Amusei will relocate to the dungeon and be forever stuck, preventing you from starting the May the Best Thief win quest. If you pick the lock later on (e.g if you feel sorry for him during Ahdarji's Heirloom), the bug will not destroy the questline but will ruin Amusei's entire schedule, as he will travel back to the dungeon in sneak mode every time he finishes his involvement in the many quests, at times causing problems when he is supposed to deliver messages from the Gray Fox. The reason behind this is that Amusei's script relocates him to the prison when the door is unlocked without checking to see if you have started or finished Ahdarji's Heirloom.A serious bug involving Amusei can prevent you from ever joining the Thieves Guild and destroy the entire questline. Maybe that's what happened?

Joining the Thieves Guild is the first quest I did so I couldn't have unlocked the dungeon at Castle Leyawiin. Even if Amusei's schedule is screwed up because he has to sneak everywhere, I've waited for 30 in-game days which is ample time for him to get to me even by sneaking.

Is there any chance he may have gotten stuck in Shivering Isle? Could he have gotten stuck in Oblivion plane and I closed the gate?

Sometimes the "Independent Thievery" quest doesn't update in your journal. Waiting a while should fix this. But if your journal is already updated, just hang around in Imperial City. Try to wait in Waterfront. But I still suspect the only way to fix this is to reload an older save.

EDIT: I could maybe be able to convert your savefile to PC and fix it by using some console commands. It's 1:29am here though. I could try it tommorow if you're interested.

The Independent Thievery has updated.

I'm very much interested. Thank you.
