An amusing way to aquire many arrows.

Most of you probably know this but maybe there are some that don't so here's a brief tip on how to get a lot of arrows quite easily.

I know that you could take down an archer and take their arrows but that may not always be the best, it seems to vary.

Spell Requirements:

Command Ceature - I would suggest 25, the maximum level. - (I think that this may work on some humanoid types but am not sure).
Invisibilty - Optional, but it certainly helps.
Restore Health on target - Maybe 50 points or so, you could a have a few I guess, maybe at 50, 75 and 100 or whatever.

That's it I think for the spells and all you have to do is go into any places like forts or ruins where
there are archers about and sneak up to them while invisble and command them. If there are no other foes about
I usually lead them to an area where there are some and then after commanding them, just stand back and enjoy the show.
Then it's just a case of re-commanding them when the spell wears off, collecting arrows and going invisible again etc.

It's also quite useful when you can stand behind them, as this not only provides some cover but you also can keep their health up to a good level,
making sure that those arrows keep on coming.

I have often aquired something like 100-200 arrows using this method and it is quite amusing as well.

May your kills be quick and many.

I've played an archer type character a number of times, and I've never found a need to carry more than maybe 30 arrows at a time. You're doing this perhaps to earn money?

"Command Humanoid" is a separate spell effect. It's possible to put both Command effects on a single spell; the applicable one will be applied.

Welcome to the forums! :icecream:

A very simple thing is to watch the gladiator archer in the Bloodworks practice. Or the Imperial Forester outside the Inn of Ill Omen. Or one ot the gro-Baroth brothers behind the Chorrol Fighters guild. No spells required. Just pick the arrows up out of the target if you need some.

By the time a character can pull off what you describe (the spells), they should be quite accomplished at surviving in Cyrodiil.

The only weapon my character will touch is a bow. Her quiver holds a rather realistic maximum of 25 arrows. She finds that to be plenty. Are you having problems getting arrows or something?

I find dodging arrows while backed against a wall somewhat more efficient.
First scout (sneak) out an archer in a dungeon, that has the arrows you want. Eliminate the other surrounding foes, back yourself against a wall and start dodging the archer's arrows. Then simply pluck the arrows off the ground as they bounce off the wall behind you. Bring some extra healing elements if you're not that good at dodging.

Yes indeed, http://images.uesp.net//c/c4/Fishystick.jpg :)

When Lothran needs arrows, he just buys them. Totally unnecessary but he likes to have about 40. However as his quiver is about to burst he′s thinking about reducing them by ten

This is the same method I use. I used to exploit a glitch that gave me copious amounts of whatever I wanted using a bow and arrow but ever since I undated the 360, it doesn't seem to work.

I just go take arrows away from bandit archers and goblins. Since I have to go there to get loot anyway, it just seems more efficient to do my shopping while I'm there. :)

M'aiq has bought many different arrows far and wide, but none of these arrows ever seem to point M'aiq in the right direction.

i like marksman...i thought it was lame long ago...but after a couple kills when they were on top of me...i thought..man this is cool.........i do prefer if i am going to use a bow that it is a long distance...seems more appropriate...did i spell that right...just like a fireball, i like to send an arrow just to arouse my enemy...then try to fix on how they come at you.....send as much as you can...piss them off...hold up your shield and block...then kill immediately.....of course that is just one way to do it

Most of the time when I need Arrows I will go dungeon diving in the nearest cave or mine with Goblins or Fort or Ruin with Skeletons. I wish those Dremora Arrows were not so heavy or I would collect them more.

If Venera wants arrows then she goes to Rockmilk Cave and kills everyone inside.

Thanks, so many replies, please forgive me for replying to you all here.

I must admit, I do have a bit of a thing for collecting arrows, but the rarer types that are not often seen and the really expensive ones, costing maybe 150 gold apiece
or maybe more, I haven't actually fired from a bow yet as I am waiting for maybe a special foe or something like that to use some of those on.

I haven't bought any arrows now for ages and this is mainly because a while ago, I came accross a group of about 4 or 5 goblins and they all had about 300 arrows each which I eventually aquired/. Another thing, I was perched on a nice rock, firing arrows at them, dropping skel guardians now and again and they were all carrying bows but not one of them fired a single arrow:) I don't think that they are that bright really.

Also, recently, during a task for Umbacano, getting something or other for him, after being ambushed by 3 bandits, I was quite shocked at the amount of arrows that a single Khajiiti archer was carrying. He had about 1800 in all, including
about 615 and a bit Daedric, which weigh 0.3 each and the Daedric arrows alone weighed about 185 points.

Needless to say, I took them all, using some feather potions now and then, (I use a lot of those:) and now have a pretty massive arrow collection in the house in Bravil, despite having sold hundreds as well.

Also, the house in Bravil is the only place that has a red icon as I go to open the front door and was wondering if anybody else has this as well?

I don't collect arrows to sell really as I don't need the money at all, I do it just for fun mainly, which this game certainly is quite often.

Thanks for the replies, may the wind be on your backs.

So all I need to do is max out my Illusion skill, create a spell for an amount of gold that could easily buy me enough arrows to last the whole game, head into an enemy-infested dungeon without armour (which is the only way to get enough spell effectiveness to command higher-level NPCs) and then grind my way to about fifty times the amount of arrows I'll ever need?

No worries. That is a bug in the vanilla game, but it won't hurt anything. You still own the house and the red icon will cause you no problems with guards or anything. For PC users, the bug is fixed by the Unofficial Oblivion Patch. :foodndrink:

Thanks for letting me know, I was worried that it might mean that the house might get burgled and all the stuff taken,
as in some type or warning or whatever:)

The only other red icon on a house I have is coming back into the house after going onto the balcony of the house in Skingrad.

Thanks again.
