Ancient Dragon Language. Studying.

Post » Sat Sep 21, 2013 3:02 am

Hello everyone!

I'm going to learn ancient dragon language presented in the game, first verbally and then in writing.

I do not know if anyone else attending this idea, and how do you it will seem funny, crazy or mad, but this language is beautiful in itself, it is something special, and I express my deep gratitude and appreciation to Emil Pagliarulo for his idea and creation.

So, after the idea came to my head, I found on the internet dragon alphabet and my next thought was: how is it easier, better and more productive thing to do? Of course, I can just start to learn the letter-by-letter, going from one group to the other words, and yet I have no other ideas, but maybe someone already has experience in similar activities, or in the network have good tutorials, so much so that I could make things easy and do it is more light and digestibility. Maybe I'm not the first, nor the last.
Welcome any tips, tricks, help, discussion, opinions, and any that may be due to the fact that I have described.
I loved this game since I started playing it, and I think I became a fan of her. Of course, not all I am pleased with it technically, but the spirit, the atmosphere and the cultural component that were going to bring the developers really struck me and will always be in my heart. This is the reason that prompted me to do it.
P.S. I apologize in advance if there is already a thread, they are not grouped together, and look for something very hard.

I think it's pretty cool. It'd be useful if you needed to keep information secret. :P

First, welcome to the forums.

My tip is forget this idea. If you want to take the time and effort to study and learn something, then make it something that can actually help you in real life.

Do note that all English words can be translated.

BretonSpellsword has a good point though, are you sure about this? I mean, it's great for roleplaying and the likes but I can't imagine that it could help you with other things.

I think it's not all that we do in our lives, makes any sense :) Some of the things we do just because felt sympathy for him, and doing this, we get pleasure. :)

I tried learning a little bit about it, but gave up. The language is incomplete, and because it is not an established language, there will be many incorrect translations. Also, if you want to learn Draconic, that's fine with me. I often like to learn a little bit more about new languages, even if it is a game. I have even studied the Daedric alphabet, though it has no language.

I kinda agree with this...when i read the first post i thought OP was talking about using sources in game. Like RPing a scholar of some sort and using books (in game) and copying down dragon words and learning the sounds associated with them so when you see the characters, you know what sound to make. BUT if you are using wikis, online sources, babeldragonfish, then what's the point?
