Ancient Nord Armour

Just wondering about this really, because before you are able to get a full set of this, you can get a full set of Wolf or Steel, which is better. So it takes you longer to get worse armor? Was it supposed to be better? Or is it just for looks? (Aela the companion wears it, just fyi)

There's lots of Redundant armour in the game.
Unlike Oblivion that had one armour style for each level bracket. Which was Heaps realistic..

Call me crazy but I am one of those people who would wear a piece of armour I liked even if it had 2 points of protection less than another.

Nah, i'm the same... It's just that you have to get it LATER on than other stuff that is far better. You'd just expect it to be better, no?
