DX 11 and and you!

I would happily forgive Crytek it they actually do this, and i will stop posting all over the internet how much this unfinished game has angered me. I have certainly learned my lesson, I will not buy games on release day, I dont really enjoy being the beta tester.

according to steam only 5% of players have DX11 capable video cards

so that 5% of the people are whining on the forums while the others are enjoying the game

I have a DX11 card, and i have played DX11 games, on Metro 2033, by enabling DX11, i might get better NPC models and some better shadows, but at a 20%-40% framerate drop

so if crytek releases DX11 i hope they do it right with not so much performance drop, or at least a notable improvement

EDIT: THIS WALLY IS POSTING FIGURES FROM MAY 2010 IT@S ACTUALLY 20% NOT 5%

Most Steam members probably don't buy even 1 game a year and they can't even run Crysis 2 anyway. There are steam members and then there are potential customers for modern games which is only a percentage of steam members.

What? Dude you proved my point, the most used video cards on Steam are the 9800GT, 8800gT, GTX 260, and HD 5770.

So they are more than capable of running Crysis 2. You unnecessarily generalized Steam users.

Your statistics are outdated. You might want to look at the current statistics. Also for your framerate drop statistic, 98% of statistics are made up on the spot.

I know for a fact there are some games that receive very little frame drop.

Also who cares how many users can use DX11? If people can use it then it needs to be released. Just like with DX10. Just because not everyone can use it is not a good enough reason to not include it. Some people don't ever touch MP but it's still included. Some people never use a mouse and keyboard, but it's still included. Some people never buy exotic cars but they are still made. Not everyone can max out Graphics settings in a game, but it's still included. Get my point?

You talk about who a Crysis fan is. I consider myself a fan. I think Crysis 2 is superior to the first game, but I still want nice textures, DX11, and good multiplayer. But see, I'm positive these will come through updates and patches, which is why I remain a fan being happy with Crytek. BUT, I do not agree with the harsh criticism people have on these forums. It's wishful thinking, as you said, to you that the harshness influenced Crytek but I disagree. If I was in their shoes I'd be angry. Seriously, we are GOING to get patches and updates like DX11 and such REGARDLESS of what criticism we do or don't give. Why not just STATE the problems out on the forums and still support Crytek and encourage and show that we still love them and look forward to their updates? THAT is what I see as a true fan. Many people on these forums don't go into the developers shoes, and they just mindlessly hate or use ignorance. Then they go on to use sarcasm like "I went into their shoes and felt laziness" or something stupid like that. Seriously people, you wanna call yourself a real Crytek and Crysis fan? Then be one. Get the garbage talk out of the forums.

I've already posted up to date statistics for Steam's hardware survey right after Mastergiux's own post.

No one else needed to do the exact same thing...

I think this topic will be deleted as it mentions that a dx11 patch may be out tomorrow, which judging by how tom is deleting any thread saying that, is false.

It might mean it's not certain. If it were not true they should just say so. That would then spread and they wouldn't have to keep deleting threads.

If the rumors are true, and Crytek is indeed working on DX 11 and advanced graphics options to be released tomorrow, 3/28/11, would you be willing to get back together with Crytek?

Nope. They screwed this one up. Stole $60 from me. I'm done with them. For DX11 to make any considerable difference, the entire Game/Engine would have to be redone completely from the start.

Hey, how about just waiting until tomorrow before discussing it then.

If he hasn't deleted the thread by now, then maybe no one has struck a cord yet, so just wait.

To the OP:

Regardless of what Crytek does or does not do tomorrow. I will not Pre-Order or buy anything on launch day from Crytek anymore. I would probably still buy a future Crytek game, but only after the game has been out for a while. I normally do this anyway, because over the past couple years more and more PC games have been launched incomplete, broken, or missing features. I did not do that this time with Crysis 2.....Well.....because it Crysis!!!

I did not think that Crytek would fall in line with the other gaming companies that release games that needs a lot of work to be called a finished game. Yet charge FULL RETAIL price for that game. Unfortunately they did just that and now I will add them to my list of companies whose games I will wait to purchase.

LOLS I'm thinking MS stands for milliseconds or microseconds or something of that order (he's using it to express the increase in rendering time).

Thats probably why the guy on twitter couldn't understand what all the fuss was about, he probably never thought people would think MS was months since MS is not in use as an abbreviation for months.

(I had no freaking idea what MS was so I looked it up)

If true this says more about whats in the DX11 than it says about dates.
