And if the Alpha build leaked...?

Post » Sat Sep 17, 2011 3:35 am

I don't even like demos for the sake that Alphas are seldom good indicators of final gameplay.

I'd rather make educated opinions on the information shared by Bethesda, and go from there. I want nothing to tarnish the first experience on release. No one wants something that anti-climactic.

That's not what she said...
I still remember seeing a let's play Deus Ex: Human Revolution 2-3 months ago thinking "Oh, so that was already released? Noooice...". The "leaked version" in the description just went unheeded by my eyes.

Not mentioning Battlefield 3 alpha build leak..
EDIT: "The barrel is bored because there are people willing to drink mead...!" - said the boniface with the palm on his own face.

But with Skyrim is different, my OCD tells me that i NEED the final and perfect build.

why would some one subject themselves to an incomplete and extraordinarily bugged game for which they may have legal actions put against them.

only thing i would use a Alpha build for is to customize my character...thats it though

it always takes me along time to customize my character =P
so i would use it just for that though

Yeah id play it for a while. I got a friend who was a part of some exclusive internet community that got movies / games way before they came out. I got to play halo 3 like a month or 2 before it was released, it felt pretty awesome. Not sure if he is still a part of that or what, i considered asking if he could get a copy of skyrim online and maybe give me a copy but we hardly ever talk anymore so i didn't think it would be appropriate to ask. But if he showed up in town and offered it outta the blue id be all over it. I would still buy the xbox and pc version like i normally do though cause i don't think its fair to cheat Bethesda out of their hard earned money.

I might as well wait for the final thing. Don't feel like playing it with the thought "well it's not really done/i'm gonna have to play through this all over again later" in the back of my mind

I would abscond with it and dissect it, studying what it's made of and better plan the mods I intend to release. I probably wouldn't play the game much but for testing scripts and whatnot as I wouldn't want it spoiled.

Yes I would play it and I would not feel guilty as I have already payed for it. It would be a good time killer until the true release arrived and I would probably go around killing all the npcs just to find who has the best loot.

I'd steer clear of it. I'm only interested in the finalized beta version.

Only if the Creation Kit would be included, I look more forward to the CK than to the actual game. Bethesda said very little concerning the public CK, I have the feeling none here gives it much thought, but I find myself constantly wondering which parts will be hardcoded and which parts will be available for modding. My biggest nightmare is that the CK would turn out to be more restricted than Oblivion.

An incomplete bug infested mess is not my ideal game. I'd wait for the real thing.

Would I play it? Heck no! I've been waiting for this game like forever...well, actually been only waiting for it actively since I finished Fallout: New Vegas...jes like I'll start waiting for Fallout 4 or whatever once I finish Skyrim. ;) But I wouldn't ruin the experience by playing something which needs a bunch of polishing, and debugging, etc. And, of course, if you only played on console, that might be difficult to play unless the console's modded, or you got a bootleg that's on a real test disc. (At least, when I used to work at a video game developer, we had stacks of various discs that would allow us to test the games on non-dev consoles.)
