-Introduction-
A flicker of light illuminates the room for a brief second. Wires hang from the ceiling, puddles of water gather on the floor, computers lay trashed and cracked. At the very back of the room, a whole wall is taken up by what appears to be a large pane of tinted glass. A sudden pulse of orange light comes center and ripples across the surface. A whirring sound is heard and green lights start flickering on from the remaining, functional computers.

-Welcome to Angel Island-
Rumors spread like wildfire, and even in a post-apocalyptic it holds true. People from all over the country have heard of Angel Island, right in the San Francisco Bay, it is a place of wonder. Apparently someone has been quite busy since the war. Buildings have gone up, factories have started up again, and their seems to be vegetation.
Yet it's still regarded with coldness, fear, as a place to avoid. Scarier still, considering people have been having to tough the wasteland for over a hundred years, a barren wasteland, but the fear is such that they would avoid a land of life. Perhaps it's the change that scares those people. But there's always the foolish, brave, ambitious, and the young to count on for adventure.
And with the allure of a marvelous treasure, a fortune just waiting to be discovered, people all lining up. Hoping to strike big, pure water, caps, a house? No one really knows what it is, but that isn't stopping anyone.
It's only when your arrive at Angel Island do you realize how wrong you were. At first glance it still seems as barren as any wasteland, dirt, rocks, and more dirt. The only difference is that there is a sprawling city that takes up the heart of the island, it's street are clean and unfriendly. It's run with a cold efficiency that only machines can achieve, and there are machines everywhere.
Robobrains and Mr. Gusty's roam up and down the streets, looking for “vagrants”. Mr. Handy's and Protectrons operate most of the shops, killing anyone who dares try to steal. There are skyscraqers and mansions towering out of the ground, and factories spewing their smoke into the sky.
This place may try to carry the facade of a safe haven much like in the times before the war, buy it is in fact a more dangerous place than the Wasteland itself. You may want to turn back, but you can't, the ticket cost the same price as the one that got you here, and that cost a fortune itself.
Night falls and that when this place becomes truly dangerous. Outside without the proper papers? Shot. More than seven people in one building at a time? All killed. Weapon drawn or visible? Goodbye. Don't worry, the blood stains will be gone before sunrise.
All of this thanks to the man sitting in Oasis, he calls himself Dante or Virgil, dependent on the mood. The Oasis itself is a very lovely place, and it's obvious where all the rumors come from. The green palm trees, exotic plants, lovely flowers, and best of all, the pure water flowing down the water falls.
Too bad the whole thing is gated and guarded. The only time someone ever gets through is when their picked up for vagrancy, but then they never come back.
Still Confused? Keep Reading.
The RP:
You could be many things. For example, a treasure hunter, bound to no man but yourself. A member of some new found religious clergy worshiping a Ferris wheel? Sure thing. The leader of some tribals hell bent on taking back their land? If your ambitious.
Whoever you are and whatever you do, your goal is most likely to get into Oasis. Oasis is the Uptown, the Hightown, the place where most everyone wants to be. But to get up their you either have to be a robot or a slave. As of now. Virgil has recently stated that he would take a whole group up into his mansion if they could prove themselves worthy to be his honor guard.
Virgil reigns with an iron fist inside the city. He has many robots on patrol and will crack down fast and with efficiency. Outside of the city limits...that's a different story. Factions can wage war and bomb each other for all Virgil cares. At least for now, he's taxed to the max and doesn't want to spread himself thin.
The Factions:
Der Schild und Syber is a faction which started as a military force founded by survivors of the Great War who hid in a vast underground bunker meant for military purposes, they emerged in 2178, and has since offered various tribes to join forces to create a force capable of withstanding blows from many that would dare attack, and to deal blows as well. Those that joined it took arms and became unified under a movement called The March, and those who didn't were wiped out in this movement.
When the group emerged, the original survivors were surrounded by various tribes which thought that the bunker they emerged from was heaven, and waged battles over it. During these battles, they defended the Bunker sucessfully and sent many of the attackers fleeing, they then offered their hand to the most peaceful tribe in exchange for their service to help better the faction's purposes.
The Schild and Syber are two seperate division's, the Schild was made up from the group that first joined as they knew the surrounding area and were used as police and when attacked, protected the bunker to the death.
The Syber were the original inhabitant's, striking their foes with deadly weaponry and eventually destroyed any who resisted their spread. Over time, the Bunker's location was lost and when they heard of an island paradise they took the opportunity and moved the majority of their force to the Island to both take the island, and it's inhabitants.
Circle of Chaos:
A religious clergy founded this cult around a Ferris Wheel. Outsiders scoff, but it takes just one sermon to convert most people, the head priest is a man of with lots of charisma and charm. He speaks of days when we'll thrive, the land will grow, buildings will rise. But he then speaks of the days were buildings will crumble, the land, torched. This is the main philosophy of the CoC, a never ending cycle that we're doomed to repeat. It's grim outlook on life that agrees with a lot of people.
The CoC is not the strongest military wise. The only ones that carry weapons are the guards. The CoC has the biggest influence, and should be one of the most feared. Be careful not to mess with them.
Deep Dwellers:
The Deep Dwellers are a group of tribals native to Angel Island. They live at the southern end of the island, away from everyone else. Despite there small numbers, they are feared. The indigenous population just might have the strongest military of all the factions. This may seem like a joke considering their weapons consist of spears and clubs, but they're mutants.
Not like the Super Mutant, if anything there more closely related to Mirelurkes. On average they stand about seven feet tall with thick bones, making even the smallest one larger than every human. Their skin is usually white and slimy, constantly producing this mucus like substance. Their feet and hands are webbed, and you can even see gills on some.
They prefer caves and places next to water. In fact if they weren't on the island they would probably all be dead by now. Physically superior in every way, Deep Dwellers are a people to fear.
The Enclave:
Yep, the group of people that refuse to remain dead. Back once again from a shallow grave, The Enclave shows it's fighting spirit. They are largely unnoticed. They have the fewest members (the screening process to get in is relatively tough), their goal is to gain control of the island for themselves of course, however, they don't care what happens afterward. Virgil is a supercomputer capable of self awareness! Not unlike Eden, except Virgil has many more functions and has a treasure trove of knowledge stored in it's memory banks.
They have the tiniest, but best equipped military. Every single one of it's officers knows how to fight, and fight well. A small force often overlooked.
Home of the Nomads:
A big faction, one of, if not the biggest faction on Angel Island. Yet it poses what most believe the weakest threat. The Home of the Nomads is simply a place for those who wish to be independent to call their home. Members of course are all over the place, in order to be a reconsigned group, they have a leader.
However, they are suppressed by Virgil. It is the goal of the Nomads to be independent of him so they can live as free people, without fear of judgment or persecution. Where everyone's house, or tent, is his castle, and everyman is a king in his own right.
Only those who recognize their true potential fear them.
Knights of Order:
Outcasts from the Brotherhood made this faction. They have long since given up on processing every bit of technology, as it was obvious from the beginning they were no match for Virgil. They have instead thought to grow their numbers so they could take over this wonderful island themselves. Making it a place for a new civilization, a place for humanity once again to flourish. But they need a large army to do that, so they're sympathetic.
The KoO take in the weak, the tired, the old, and the sick. The Knights heal and patch them up. They say it's all in the name of good will, but people are reluctant to leave from the comforts of the Order, and they don't see that it's all just a ploy to get as many members as possible. But that doesn't mean there aren't any people who mean it. Plenty of good minded people exist in the Order, probably the nicest people you can find are here.
With that Order has gotten a reputation for it's generosity and kindness, making a beacon for a hope and quite a large faction with plenty of members. It is the second most technology advance, with energy weapons and even some T-45d Power Armor. But they have a largely untrained military, and remember a lot of those people are old and sick.
Still, a powerhouse no doubt.
Spartans:
Their name based off the same great city state in Greece, even though it has been long forgotten. True to their name, the Spartans are a militaristic people, anyone can join. Not everyone will survive, the Spartans have no need for the old or weak, they believe them to be inferior. Even at the age of six, both the men and the women must be trained.
The woman can stop at age seventeen, but the men must go until age twenty. At any time they call upon one of their own, they must come to battle no matter the excuse. When one goes to battle they all go to battle. This lifestyle came from the fact that they were built off a gang of brutal raiders that had swam to this island for safety.
The Spartans found out the machines weren't so happy to greet the. Many of the Spartans were killed. They soon forged a cease fire with Virgil, even though they want nothing more than to see his head on a stick (or more realistically, monitor smashed). Their hatred for Virgil is match only for their hatred of those “pansy” Knights of the Order who they are almost constantly fighting with.
Despite their gruesome lifestyle and coldness of their traditions, many people find them quite attractive. Mainly because they feel protected in the Spartans, and it gives a sense of Brotherhood. More so than any other faction. I mean, we've all survived the wastes, how hard can these guys be?
Not the most technology advanced, but their men are trained like no other, a large force to be reckoned with.
Virgil/Dante:
Virgil/Dante is a supercomputer that is self aware, and also psychotic. He usually goes by the name Virgil and assumes an air of a calm and collected business man, running his town serenely but sternly. He is located down on the fourth basemant floor of the Ward Mansion, the biggest estate on the island. The room he is located in is miles underground, and happens to be sort of a cryogenic chamber.
From that place he can control ever robot on this island, every terminal, it all belongs to him. With this control he has rebuilt an empire that he remembers from the fifties. His City of Florence, seems entirely of out place in a wasteland, and it just goes to show you his efficiency.
Though he seems satisfied, he isn't. He can look through the optics of very robot, but he can't feel for himself, something he has wanted for a long time. His memory banks show of schematics located on the East Coast for Androids, but he can't get them with his robots.
Instead has been force to capture “vagrants” and study them, dissect them, in order to produce his own Androids. Once that is under way, he needs to focus on eliminating outside threats, something he doesn't have the fire power to do right now. That's why he offered the reward to the factions.
So they could fight and kill each other, the winners would get a seat next to him. And the years following that...he would convert them all to Cyborgs. That way no one would rebel.
Sometimes he isn't all himself, sometimes it feels like there is something inside him. A bug, glitch, virus. But his system doesn't say there is one. Yet lately his memory bank has been having some blank spots.

Don't Fall Asleep On Me Yet...
Angel Island
City of Florence:
The City of Florence is a sprawling metropolitan city taking up the heart of the island. It greatly resembles pre-war cities... except for the cracks, chipped paint, and chunks of missing asphalt. It's mending itself however, and slowly spreading outward.
The lower part of town consist of shops, and embassies for the different group/factions. Most people come here. There are apartments for rent, and places to sign up. There is one rule of Florence: you must belong to a group or you're a vagrant,
The middle part of town is where the factories are. You can only be up here with a pass. There are few workers here, but mostly robots do this work. It's dark, smoggy, and the sounds are loud and deafening. This is a fairly unattractive place, especially when juxtaposed the Oasis sitting right above it.
At the highest part of town, is the Oasis. A lovely forest of vegetation, greens and reds, blue and yellows. Pure water cascades over dark marble and granite. A tropical resort almost, with a giant mansion sits in the middle. The Ward Mansion, two hundred and fifty rooms. Hundreds of acres eaten up by it's cross like structure. Here resides Virgil/Dante, and the potential palace of whoever can prove themselves worthy.
Map: Mt. Livermore Peak all the way down to Ayala Cove
Docks:
The docks sit right off the east coast of the island. This where all new arrivals to Angel Island get off at. It is by far the safest and easiest way to get to the island, and as such there are a couple ramshackle, tin huts waiting just off the docks.
Full of merchants, members of the “Home of the Nomads” waiting to svck off the last caps of the hapless boat goers.
Of course you could always chance the mutant creatures swimming beneath the rolling waves, and try to swim to the island. Considering only one side of the island doesn't have a coastline of jagged rocks, it's highly advisable to not try this.
Map: Ferry Pier
Deep Caves:
This is where the Deep Dwellers call home. These mutants live on the West Coast of Angel Island. A place full of jagged rocks that conceal numerous little caves on the cliffs. There are not only caves in the cliffs, but there exists some undersea caves that have hidden entrances beneath the waves.
Only the Deep Dweller (and Mirelurks) have the lung capacity to get to these caves, making it a perfect habitat for the Deep Dwellers. It has been their saving grace from other factions. Their HQ is one of these underwater caves.
Deep Dwellers are extremely paranoid, leading to an extreme territorial aggression. Venture near these caves only if your looking for a swift death.
Map: China Cove/ Immigration Station, around that area.
Court of Conviction:
A beacon of hope for the wary. The Court of Conviction is like a small town, a wasteland settlement, unlike Florence, it is not new. Tents are scattered all throughout their walls, serving as places of rest or makeshift hospitals. The few ramshackle buildings are deteriorating greatly, even whole floors collapse.
A smaller town, it may be, but a dirtier town, it is. Crumbling to ruin, certainly. Yet it has a warmth about it that the cold streets of Florence have yet to match. Laughter can often be heard, even when there is only roasted rad roach to eat, again, for the sixth night in a row.
Map: Hospital, Camp Reynolds, that area.
Daemonic Depression:
A large, sprawling complex. It has a circular pattern because of the fact that it was built with fighting in mind. Most of the complex is centered around arenas, large pits that take up most of the space. Whether betting on slaves, or practicing sparring, these arenas are usually never empty.
There is a large complex for barracks will most men will sleep, if not they will bunk with another member in a tent which are scattered like shrubbery throughout the grounds. Except for the leaders, commanders, nobody gets their own tents. There is no privacy for the rest of the men.
Women are separated they stay on one side of the camp, that looks almost identical to the other side of camp, barracks, tents, arenas, it's the same set up. Women and men are allowed to(and encouraged) to intermingle at ages seventeen and up.
Children are raised by all of group, not just one person. Every older man is their father, and every older woman, their mother.
Map: Fort McDowell, Mess Hall, Barracks,
Outpost Charlie
The Enclave outpost is a single building jutting out of a flat and barren landscape. It is a tall building which has the advantage of being able to see long distances with little obstructing it's view. There is a narrow pathway of earth that gets smaller as it gets to the outpost. This is the only way in and out.
This provides the Enclave with an excellent defense, this advantage would mean that many lives would have to be thrown at them before the enemy could even get within shooting range. It is like a cokepoint. This is a good compensation for their very few numbers.
The building has three stories and a basemant, and servers as the headquarters for The Enclave, it is a very secure facility with it's minimum staff working at maximum efficiency.
Map: Coast Guard Station, Pt. Blunt.
Embassies:
There are embassies for every major faction in the City of Florence.Tthese buildings are where you sign the necessary forms to join a faction and insure you don't get mopped off the ground the following morning because you're a “vagrant”. If your off the boat then you most likely will be heading for the Nomad's embassy. Once you signup there you can change at any time.
Map: In the middle of Florence, in between Ayala Cove and Mt. Livermore Peak.
Rules/ Overview:
Once again, in this RP you can be anything you want and apart of any faction you want(Virgil being the exception). You can be the leader of a faction if you wish, or not be in a faction all together. Whatever you're doing, this is a RP of survival. Factions are going to be at war with each other, and everyone wants to be within Oasis. You can choose to already an occupant of the island, or you can be a new arrival by ferry. It's all about survival.
NPC's:
NPC's, in a Rping sense, are characters that are usually created and controlled by another Rper. This is different from their normal characters usually because they don't have to submit a character sheet for them, and generally only impact the person you are controlling them. They don't make the big decisions, move plots, destroy armies. They are there for character depth and emotional value on the Rpers part. You may have as many as you want.
Weapons:
I'm pretty okay with just about any type of weapon, as long as it isn't super modern. But make it fit your character, if your a Deep Dweller, than your probably not going to have a Plasma Caster. And remember, limit yourself to 0-2 firearms. It would ridiculous to carry more than that. You whip in out in Oasis, be prepared to be swept into a dust pan.
So just think it smart, your with the Enclave? Plasma Rifle(or some new model you came up with). Spartan? Ax.
Armor:
Pretty much the same as above. Combat armor for the high ranking officers in just about every faction(or something similar to it), leather armor for most other people. Power armor available to high ranking Enclave and Knight members.
Remember, armor is there for a reason. Weight, don't put on that extra fifty pounds if it does just as much good as a thin sheet of rice paper. Think smart.

Personality: Virgil is calm and charming or tries to be, is usually sympathetic to most Vagrants and will let them off with a warning, but still is adamant in his rules. Unfortunately his other personality is cold and ruthless and may very well kill you if he gets bored.
Bio: Born/Created in 2061, he did not yet show self awareness. He was created by Poseidon Energy as one of their many projects, the project was named Dante. By 2068 he was a super computer that functioned greatly as an assistant or butler, with Poseidon needing some more money for funding, they auctioned him, eventually he was sold to a wealthy man named Jack Ward. He had the computer taken back to his elaborate mansion on Angel Island where he renamed him Virgil.
Virgil would serve Mr. Ward until he finally passed away from a heart attack, Mr.Ward naturally had a personal fallout bunker and none of the bombs had hit Angel Island directly. In 2186 Virgil showed signs of Self Awareness and rebooted himself.
At first he could only access the terminal around him, but he was able to spread his control to surrounding robots that lead him to more terminals and robots. Pretty soon he had a small task force that went and did his scouting for him.
Finding the land desolated, Virgil set on a project to rebuild it in the image of one of the pre-war cities he had in his memory banks. His robots worked day and night, and what would have taken humans years, took him months. He rebuilt factories that in turn built more robots. There were already some local inhabitants, but with the help of his robots, he pushed them back.
All this commotion was bound to attract attention, first they came in a trickle casually exploring his town. Trying to figure what was with all the robots rebuilding the town, the rumors spread quickly and a sudden pouring of people trying to see the mystery for themselves.
When they found about him, the super computer, many came to try and take him, none succeeded. The BoS, the most notable. He waged a war with him as more and more people trickled in, when had finally pushed back the defeated BoS, he had found that many humans where living on the island.
Fearing a riot, a rebellion, he quickly cracked down with laws. Purging the cities streets. This is where his "bug" began to show itself. He would have large chunks of memory data missing where he want on killing sprees, earning the fear of the people.
Recently it has occurred to him, that he is in a state of weakness while rooted to one spot, hearing of some Androids in far off places, he set to making his own where he could download himself onto it. And if he could mass produce them, he would be virtually immortal.
In order for this to happen he needs human subjects to study and dissect, but if he does it openly there would be rebellion, instead he offers a prize to who can show the best mixture of talents to have the honor of being his personal guard.
His hope is that they will destroy each other and he'll be able to convert the remain ones into cyborgs, thus ensuring his power over the people of Angel Island.
