Animals in Skyrim

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 7:32 am

Here's a list of the animals that will be featured in Skyrim.

birds
salmon
slaughterfish
dogs
wolves
horses
mammoths
goats
cows
rabbits
walruses
horkers
deer
elk
sabertooth tigers
mudcrabs
bears
spiders
trolls
rats
insects
foxes

Did I miss any?

There certainly is a wider variety than in Oblivion.

Elk, unless you classified them as deer.

Aren't Horkers the Walruses of Nirn? And I don't think mudcrabs and slaughterfishes have been confirmed.

I'm hoping Mammoths are more "creatures". I know they are an animal, but I would love to get into a brutal fight with a Mammoth without it running away if I get too close(Deer).

There is a concept art image of a walrus... well at least something that very much looks like a walrus.
Examples:
http://www.scharesoft.de/joomla/almanach/images/1/1f/Artwork_-_Art_of_Skyrim_-_Himmelsrand-Karte.jpg - concept art
http://images.nationalgeographic.com/wpf/media-live/photos/000/007/cache/walrus_747_600x450.jpg - real walrus
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/22684-3-1237587082.jpg - horker

I think it's obvious mudcrabs and slaughterfishes are in :)

I'd hope mammoths will behave like the Bighorners in FONV. So long as you don't bother them they'll leave you alone but get too close to their young or attack them and they'll get very aggressive. Not to say that just like elephants there couldn't be the ocasional rogue male who is very aggressive.

Yup, I think it even was confirmed somewhere that we could se rats running around.

Also, I remember there being talk about insects and stuff like that. Don't remember where, but do remember it.

IDK about the rest of you, but it would be incredabley fun to run into something along the lines of a Kraken that deep down in the water.

1. it would be one of a kind in the northest part of the sea

2. it would be HUGE and really hard to beat.

3. i really want it to be in the game

I remember that:
'When you look closely at the flowers you see insects around, the detail is amazing.'
Atleast something like that.

Yeah that's where I remember it from I think. Sounds great :P

@Sandmanbakery: I would very much like rare and deadly sea monsters as well in the deepest depths of Skyrim's waters :)

hahaha! Good times.

I wish domestic cats would be in. It'd be a nice companion to my alchemist/mage character.
