Here are my menus:

(and before anyone asks, the music on the second is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPEEp5R_pOo&fmt=18)

Update, the new menu I've been hiding from you guys is up on Youtube, all I gotta do is compress the rest of the files, package them up then then release!

:poke: Were you going to do colors on the map? I mean, it is totally okay if you don't want to, but, I recall reading that you were thinking about making a pretty colorized version...

This is what I've managed to get working so far

- I haven't got any of my custom menus to work yet

- ENBseries will crash Morrowind once the animated menu comes up

- I "restored" Morrowind's original animated menu, but it only works in windowed mode without ENB, in fullscreen it opens an "active video" window.

So, what's wrong? I dunno, I think it has to do with the fact that my video file is an extreme resolution, while still just around 10mb.

EDIT:
:poke: Were you going to do colors on the map? I mean, it is totally okay if you don't want to, but, I recall reading that you were thinking about making a pretty colorized version...

Yes, it's already done, but I gotta get this to work first, as I can just make all the sepia's then quickly change THEM to alternate coloured versions, I'm going to put my efforts in getting this to actually work before finishing up the ports and making it coloured, although if you want to see how it'll look I can show you.

Well, I have a question - why this menu resembles Oblivion menu so much? First of all, it is not quite a Morrowind style, and, secondly, Morrowind menu is vertically oriented, so there is no necessity in these horizontal bars. However, the menu itself shouldn't be just over the video - it requires any background, because in the light areas the video turns out to be overbloomed (if you use HDR, certainly), and the words thus are absolutely unreadable.

However, it is just my opinion. And the map is wonderful anyway.

It's fine with bloom, I've tested it in Oblivion using ENB and it looks even better than it does when it doesn't have bloom.

Any chance of posting picture links like this in the future: http://i41.tinypic.com/4g3oyt.jpg? Much easier. And don't get me started on ImageShack...

Good work on including the TR claim map. Looks cool.

Quartz.dll's for DirectPlay isn't it? I don't know why these crashes are happening but I have seen, over in the Hardware & Software forum, that various codecs can cause problems with Morrowind. In fact there's http://nightmare2013.brashendeavors.net/:

Quartz.dll's for DirectPlay isn't it? I don't know why these crashes are happening but I have seen, over in the Hardware & Software forum, that various codecs can cause problems with Morrowind. In fact there's Nightmare2013's CODEC Reset Utility:

Morrowind and Oblivion, unlike most other games, make use of CODECs to display the Bink videos (including the opening cinematics) and some of the sounds and background music.

Unfortunately, some CODECs cause problems for Morrowind and Oblivion, and what's worse is that nobody has been able to come up with a good list of CODECs that are known to cause these problems.

I am scared a little. If I do that I will definately break some registry stuff. And it is an enbseries problem. It is only happening with enbseries.

@starwarguys
I wanted to test my video with the temp home computer. I got white screen first. I had to update my codec pack to the latest version and it worked. Enbseries still crashes and this time without a warning. (different OS setup. normal.)

Kryzmar posted a mge code for disabling hardware shaders in menu mode. This could fix the double bloom thing.

short prevModeif ( MenuMode == prevMode )	returnendifset prevMode to MenuModeifx ( prevMode )	MGEDisableFullscreenShaderselse	MGEEnableFullscreenShadersendif

or even shorter:

short prevModeif ( MenuMode == prevMode )	returnendifset prevMode to MenuModeMGEToggleFullscreenShaders

But I have no idea how to make it to work in main menu. (say that: to make it work at all?!)

Last WIP thread

I hope so. ;)

I've tested it in Morrowind with one of the MGE shaders. It is too bright! Unfortunately, I can't make a screenshot, I do not know why - I can find the image nowhere...

MGE Shaders do bloom differently from ENB, and I don't mind bright things as much as others do, I probably won't make a darker version for the bloom/HDR users, since I think it looks fine, besides, you can just turn the shaders off during the menu.

Oh, I do not say that it is necessary to make a darker version; I just offer to make a little static background for the letters of menu to make them readable. May be a scroll or something like that...

I'm not going to do that, putting a solid background behind the Morroiwnd logo would ruin the affect I had achieved, I just wanted it to look like it was hovering there, so all it is is some enhanced text with a drop shadow, and I think it looks great how it is.

This is a real problem, seeing as how I use enbseires all the time, I'd have to deactivate either my menu or enb when I wanted to play the game. And I know enb effects make my menu look better, so I'd love to use both.

I think I might ask about it in the MGE thread.

No, I've been busy with other stuff, and didn't want to trouble myself with getting this to work.

Perhaps you can put up what you have and let someone else give porting it a try?

No, that would allow people access to my menu resources. Although I could just finish the res ports than post the AVI's for people to mess with.

Maybe it is time to release it with a warning:

Known conflicts: Using with Enbseries causes instant crashes when animated menu kicks in. Don't use if you have Enbseries.

I use Enbseries too. It's an awful situation.

But I don't want to! I use ENBSeries and I want to have my menu and the effects, I hope that this problem can be solved..

Speaking of the menu resources though, I'll probably release them in a mini pack along with some other stuff I'll make for it.

You could release a version that works without ENBSeries and then a version 1.1 once you figure out how to fix the problem.

Also, I was wondering if you could perhaps ask the OpenMW people if they could implement this as their main menu in their next release or something (they just released v. 0.6). I think that would be just awesome as the standard OpenMW menu, it would really liven up the engine port. It would probably be a lot easier than implementing it in the original Morrowind and might be as easy as passing off your animation to them and they could code the animation directly into the menu background. Since it wouldn't use ENBSeries you wouldn't have the problem you have now and people could see the animation before it is finally done for the vanilla MW engine.

As someone who doesn't use ENBseries, I would love to see an early release with an ENBseries follow up. *chuckle*
