[ RELz ] Animated Morrowind

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 6:13 pm

At first when I heard about Animated Morrowind, I was like 'meh, I don't want another bunch of crappy animated NPC's in my game'. What a fool I was, it made Vvardenfell that much livelier (and the animations weren't crappy at all :)). Installing this new part as we speak.

Great mod!

BTW did you get your inspiration for the Camonna Tong guy from http://www.google.nl/imgres?imgurl=http://lparchive.org/Quest-for-Glory-1-5/Update%252011/15-ch1011.png&imgrefurl=http://lparchive.org/Quest-for-Glory-1-5/Update%252011/&usg=__y0oG7lrIyR4isqcIVYC7nmTRHuw=&h=400&w=640&sz=87&hl=nl&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=1vbRCp3Y1-tMzM:&tbnh=136&tbnw=236&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dquest%2Bfor%2Bglory%2Bbruno%26hl%3Dnl%26sa%3DX%26biw%3D1920%26bih%3D967%26tbs%3Disch:1%26prmd%3Divns&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=144&vpy=90&dur=5032&hovh=177&hovw=284&tx=147&ty=67&ei=h9okTaDCAdDu4gbwouGEAg&oei=h9okTaDCAdDu4gbwouGEAg&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=60&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0?

One of the best mods out there.

hello, thank you! :)

I very much hope this will be expanded to many NPCs just like Animated Morrowind Part One was.

Yeah, Vikart did a good job for the part One. When I try to do it myself, the places look crowded, and the paths get blocked.
I would like to animate more original Npcs instead, but people is afraid of possible conflicts. (I receive often email like "I like your Animated Morrowind, but it conflicts with a mod that adds a deodorant potion, so I am not going to use it...")

Now all that's really left is sleeping NPCs. Dancing animations are already done and implemented in Taverntime Vvardenfell.

the sleeping animation, should be among the others in http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=4964 by RX31. The movements should be good, because are made using the motion capture technique, so are from real actors.

II didn't know it. I remember someone here suggested me this animation, and I tried it. :)

Superb work!
Is it possible that you created a add-on of you Animated Morrowind's mod, which would add your animations to Vanilla's NPCs (not all NPCs ^^)?

What an unexpected and wonderful update! The mining and slaving animations will really help to bring Morrowind to life - although my personal favourite is the neato 'hands over the fire' number that I want to add to bandits and ashlanders everywhere...

nice to see part 2 come out. nice done.

1
when I see the prayer, i wonder what will happen if player [or other npc] walk near him?
will the prayer kneel and pray the actor whom near him ? I mean the AI in original game may force npc face the other npc or player when they near.

2
the bandit near campfire looks like are warming his hands by fire firom the video. is that the same "reading" animation in the first release? any chance a normal sitting animation?

3
you have done very well, thanks.

Well, from what I know and can see in the video:

1 - No, shouldn't happen, when the greeting in the NPC AI is set to 0. Though I didn't test the new animations in game yet, I would bet it's that way. Unfortunately, the NPCs still move their head tracking your character near them (only a bit, they don't rotate their heads like owls after all ;) ). This breaks the immersion of some animations (like sleeping), but it isn't that bad.

2 - Doubtful, that it would be the same animation. Doesn't really look like it either. What do you mean under "normal sitting"? There are so many possibilities, that I can't really estimate the one you mean and I think it isn't only me. I tried to think of some sitting animations myself and ended up with round twenty completely different ones, depending on the "where" the NPC sits and what his/her "personality" or "status" is like.

I wanted to include these animations in the first Animated Morrowind..............

This is great news! Many thanks to you for your work! Excellent continuation of a series of animations for Morrowind! I hope to see the third part. It is high time to revive the snowy north. What are your plans for the development of a series of animations, if not secret?

Hey, here is the musician of this mod! :)
No plans for future updates Juvas, but I can't tell.

it would be easy, but this may conflict with other mods that modify the same Npcs, and probably, would require to start a new game. So I think the best is that who wants may add these via Construction Set (it is easy).

I second that. I thought about doing the same, but the number of possible conflicts with other mods reaches astronomical numbers. Changing one vanilla NPC is already asking for trouble with people asking for making new, compatible ESPs for "this" and "that" mod. Just imagine how many could be expected then if you change 10 to 20 of them.

Yeah I imagine there would be conflicts with most head replacer mods.

A request-- could you make a sitting animation for Helseth on his throne? I'm thinking something like http://media.photobucket.com/image/sitting%20throne/warrack_customs/Ultron/UltronThrone.jpg, http://img312.imageshack.us/img312/8194/versusscan6io.jpg (minus the oversized sword, obviously :P), or http://simonbisleygallery.com/art/biz00220.jpg, perhaps?

I know you just got done saying you didn't want to give animations to vanilla NPCs, but even if you didn't assign it to Helseth per se, a relaxed/lounging animation would be a nice addition to the game anyway, methinks :)

Yeah I always figured Helseth would look much cooler sitting on his throne rather than just standing there in front of it.

I wanted to do this for AM2, but then I gave up because of these many problems:

- the King is one of those characters who have their inventory modified, during the game (he gives you a dagger, a collar etc..) This means that after his inventory changes, a plugin that change himt will not affect him. So, this may work only if you load the plugin before it changes his inventory.
- the King is not next the throne, so you have to move it youself. Moreover, he moves during an event of the main quest...
- the King's Hello is to set to 0.
- the King's Robe has not the best shape to bend, http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/2383/erher.jpg

For the last one, I changed the Robe

http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/4106/screenshot623v.jpg

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JFYEBCFL

you have to palce Helseth near the throne, so near that the robe touches the chair.
