No, you cannot. You can use a keyboard for typing messages though.

Yes, you can.

Yeah except too many admins use "if they could react the same way" as a decision maker, never taking into account there could be people better than them :/

I understand those, though. If they don't kick everyone who kills them 3 times in a row.

If there is one player or a group of them who are just so much better than the others, the game is not fun for most of the players. So removing these players from the server can improve the game for more people.

I hate it when I get removed just because I'm better. If they work together, I shouldn't be able to do much.

If it's an very good team vs a very bad team, then the game is ruined yes. A shuffle option/vote would do the trick.

That idea is interesting, but sacrifices a lot of speed to give you more precision. You're screwed whenever someone gets behind you.

You are usually screwed in this case anyway. My tactic is strafe while spinning anyway.

Well, assuming you are going to use that controller for Brink as well, it could be the difference between having a chance of returning fire when someone gets you from behind, or dying before you even have enough time to turn around.

But then again, when i played console, i would keep my sensitivity at max for that very reason, so i might be a bit biased. No one ever caught me off guard from behind though.

But I'd love to have a 180 macro button regardless. But really you can only have so much.

Yeah I max my sensitivity. Hopefully when I play and with the team aspect I won't get ambushed too often. I hate the "wiggle room" the xbox controller has. It's aggravating. It's like a 1/8 second delay or something when you are trying to aim. I never noticed it til i started playing Battlefield.

Would be a nice thing to have on a console controller, but seems like it would be difficult to do from the hardware's side, since I'm pretty sure each game would have a different value for what it would take to turn around.

You'd have to set it manually in game. But most people spend a lot of time playing ONE game at the same settings so that wouldn't be difficult.

They have implemented a "gravity well" type technique for turning around quickly on console. If there is a guy aiming/shooting at you from behind, the game will sort of snap around real quick so you have a chance to survive. The further away he is the bigger the threat he is, so the bigger the threat he is, the faster you will spin around. This can be turned on/off as well. Richard Ham talks about it in this video at 11:45 - http://www.videogamer.com/videos/brink_richard_ham_interview.html#

The whole vid is pretty good and lengthy.

As long as its compatible with jess's trackball, it could solve his problem. Of course it could just go wacky.

Good vid. Not sure I like the concept since what is the point of sneaking up if they can auto turn on you?

Even without this mechanic, the game still has the "Combat Intuition" ability, which lets players know when an unseen enemy has them in their sights.

True but like downed fire ability can only be one of 3 ability slots. Seems fitting for a medic or disguised operative.

Still it will be obvious who have it as they will whip around. So simply don't point the recticle until you unload on them.

This ability could make you paranoid lol. I think I'll use it though, even when I'm sure that I'm able to turn around and retaliate at pretty much every occasion.

Operatives also have the feign death maneuver, use that and downed fire in the same game and you might be able to really screw with people.

Ability slots do not count towards this ability, because it is a passive ability, not an active ability.

Keep popping behind cover every time they turn around.

So we have how many passive abilities? Link ?

Do you really think there will be a limit on passives? That would kinda svck, I usually prefer to use more passives so I have less active abilities to keep track of.

I thought you could get 20 abilities? One for each level. I'm not saying thay you can use all of them at once or that you need extra levels to unlock higher tiers (like with the turrets)

That's how I always interpreted it, please correct me if i'm wrong.

I think you are limited to 3 active abilities, left right and down, pretty sure you choose which ones you want for each class before you go in game. Haven't heard anything about passive ability limits.

EXEDORE: Being able to sprint while cooking is a low level ability, and grenade shooting is a high level ability. As some have surmised, slots are not a concern with passive abilities that don't require d-pad activation.

H0RSE: So is there no limit to how many passive abilities you can bring into a match?

EXEDORE: It's only limited by your level, which dictates how many abilities you can buy overall.

Yes, you can get 20 abilities total, but you can only ever equip 3 active abilities at one time.
