Announcement Fantasies

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 10:18 pm

Bethesda announces a press conference following the release of Fallout New Vegas to discuss the possibility of future expansions to the game. At the press conference, some nondescript, vague information about how they are already started on making the first expansion and how they have a commitment to produce new content (yawn) is given.

Suddenly, the lights dim, and the sound of rumbling is heard. Out of the stage floor, fog begins to billow, and blue light precedes the rising of an icy stone doorway. Pounding is heard from the door as the onstage Bethesda spokesperson backs off in apparent fright. The door is thrown open, and a bit of yet-to-be-heard Jeremy Soule music is piped into the room as Todd Howard, wearing a Nordic Helmet and wielding a Longsword and Tower Shield, emerges from the dense fog of the door. He approaches the microphone podium, sets down the sword and shield, and gives the announcement.

The audience squeals in delight.

Post your own fantasies about what the announcement would be like. Be as outlandish as you want.

That would be sooooooo coooooooooool, it even has that old feeling that they used to do in conventions in the 90's.

I wake up early in the morning for no explicable reason, but I have some time, so I check my email. My entire inbox is empty aside from a single message named "Love Ya."

The sender is trolld@svckmyballs.com, but I open it anyway. It is infact a video from Todd Howard.

"Cam, in light of recent events, The Elder Scrolls Five is going to be banned in every goddamned country on the planet. For this reason, I am mailing you the sole copy of the game. It will arrive in 7 days. I expect you to be prepared by next week. And, Cam, I know it may seem that we have parted ways since that night in Albany, but I still love you with all my heart. May Talos shine on you."

I simply nod at my monitor, strangely I am wearing sunglasses.

Turns out, Todd brings it to me personally, and we start a rap group called "The Ordinat'uhs".

I had a dream about it being announced...

I had a dream I was on google and I searched "The Elder Scrolls 5" in the "News" section. Nothing interesting popped up so I clicked "Past 24 Hours". To my surprise the game had been announced and put on Google before almost anyone else knew about it, so I ecstatically came to the forums and announced the announcement and it was amazing.

The announcement came with a video of a person in a hood going through a blizzard... kinda like the "Urn of Sacred Ashes" for DA:O, except they were fighting other stuff. (They were big monsters... but I couldn't tell what they were, it's sort-of fuzzy)

And then my dream skipped to giant spiders wearing jewelry and climbing up my dining room walls...

Things went downhill from there. :(

I get the second TES book, despite it costing $70. On a page in the middle there is a CD. Curious as to what this is, I put it into my mom's PC, and a /pop up comes on: "Now downloading TES:V."

I proceed to make illigal copies of the game and sell them before the release date for $500 each.

www.elderscrolls.com is completely changed on 11/9. The main page is divided into thirds, diamond cut. The upper left third resembles the inner dome of the Orrery with the night sky of Tamriel with the constellations clearly marked and rotating in a slow yet perceivable way. The upper right third has an over the shoulder view of a blindfolded monk. A scroll dimly illuminated by candle light is unfurled before him, but the writing is obscured by his hand and its shadow as he moves it along as though he is deciphering something. The bottom third is a cypher that spins in time with the celestial rotating sky scape. When certain constellations appear, the cypher shows a word and the monk moves his hand aside to reveal a word in daedric on the scroll. Over the course of 5 days, every 12 hours at noon and midnight the site reveals another clue. At the end of the five days, the ten clues reveal the game, its location, and its premise.

minewould be a simple game announcement with a date for the conference to reveal a preview.
and somewhat like the one above everyone gets set for an announcement
and the first 30 minutes is how they made the game child friendly, went back to older graphics to make the game more rustic, and the romeo and juliet romance main quest.
and right when the first person leaves the room they call syke and blow everyone's minds with actual info that noone knew is what they really exactly wanted.
