Announcing the Skyrim Fan Interview

Post » Fri Mar 12, 2010 3:02 am

Are you planning on having both Vampirism and Lycanthropy in the game? Will you only put them in if you are satisfied with out they turn out?

How pronounced will the differences between races be in terms of specialising. For example, would an Altmer be much better a spellcaster than say an Orc? And contrastingly, would an Orc be a much better warrior/fighter than a bosmer?

Oh and another question demand if I may. M'aiq better be in.

Are 'Essential' characters making a return or will it go the way of New Vegas?

Is M'aiq the Liar, everyone's favorite mysterious Khajiit making a return?

Werewolves or no werewolves?

Are there going to be silly aspects to the game or will it be all serious?

Thanks.

hey guys, I have a ton of questions.
First of all, how will inventory work? Because in Oblivion you guys had a pretty good inventory system except for the fact that you had to scroll down through these really long lists and quite frankly it got a bit tedious.

How do you level? do you need to sleep? is it automatic? do you sleep and get the option, do you wish to level up now? Because in Oblivion sometimes you had to sleep to complete a quest but you didn't want to sleep so you couldn't do the quest.

Also, and this question might sound stupid but, can you buy different houses in one city? I remember in Oblivion you could only buy a house in the waterfront, but maybe a house in the Elven Gardens District would have been cool too.

Are vampires back? Are they more balanced than before? Because after 4 days of not feeding you were [censored] terminator.

Now that you have dual wielding, can you summon 2 creatures at once?
If you summon a creature and you change spell, will the summon dissappear?

Will moving the joystick to controll your attacks be more acurate in the console version of the game? Because in PC it worked pretty well, but sometimes in the Xbox 360/PS3 versions it wouldn't feel like you were controlling your attacks?

Can you give us a hint of who will do the voice acting this time around? At least can you tell us who is the man with the epic voice in the traler?

Thanks Guys! Sorry for all these questions, BUT I'M A HUGE FAN OF YOUR WORK!

What sort of information can we expect from E3? Actor reveals? Demo video like you did with Oblivion (albeit several weeks later ;) )?

Thanks,

Are we going to see separate pauldrens?

How do the events of the infernal city tie into the Skyrim setting?

Any reason for setting the game 200 years after Oblivion?

How will you accomplish Vampirism? How are you trying? Will a vampire player character have to stay at the bottom of frozen lakes for all eternity, simply waiting for someone to walk on top of them? Will Vampirism be more like Oblivion?

We saw an Irish Wolfhound in a screenshot. Can Dovahkiin have a dog? Can he have other dogs than the Wolfhound?

many games feature great cities and environments full of lush graphics and detail but they all lack one thing
mystery ,secret places and factions that you may stumble upon while you explore your surroundings. these small things keep me interested in a game.
remote places where no one dares to enter hidden deep down beneath skyrims layers
like an abandoned shrine on top of a mountain thts extremely hard to access
i know all those things will be in skyrim but the real question is will they be diversified and appeal to many styles of game-play ,and how many exactly will we encounter

another thing i would like to ask and i know it has no connection to skyrims' terrain but will there be a desert ?
i just love the deserts' atmo (sleeping in a tent under the open sky ,surviving is hard, and the desert got all these kind of unique places like the oasis and deserted palaces and so on )

i just want unique places npcs and encounters:D

ohh and the soundtrack in oblivion is dope every time i hear it i feel ecstatic and it gave the game a really nice color and atmo it felt like i actully was there
, will you keep the same awesome background music in skyrim? will it change drastically ?!

In one of the GI videos we saw the artwork of an archer shooting a flaming arrow. Are these arrows able to set a house (or any other object, not creatures) on fire?

In Oblivion player houses were a big deal for a lot of people and decorating your house was something fun to do with all your prized possessions.

How are you guys going about letting the player own/decorate their house? Will there be ways to hang up our items on walls (paintbrush glitch)?

This is a small question but I for one am really looking forward to hearing more about this because taking all of my character's hard-earned items and decorating my house was one of my favorite things to do in Oblivion.

Cheers.

A lot of good questions here, I hope you can answer as many as possible
I would like to know about choices and consequences: how much weight did you put into player choices this time? Do they trigger different consequences later in the game? Serious, story changing ones, not just for cosmetics.

Tundra is considered a desert since it is a harsh place to live, it doesn't all revolve around temperature.

Will there be several different possible endgames through the main quest like Daggerfall or FONV? Or one main quest path like Morrowind and Oblivion?

Do you plan to include non lethal ways of defeating opponents??

I'm guessing confirming the skill list is out of the question, but what's happening with h2h?!

Any chances sustained spells included?

Are you going to include a way to reset perks in the game? I know it sounds silly, but if somebody down the road drops one skill for another they will feel that the perks they invested in the original skills are wasted creating basiclly the same feel as when you had to choose a class or a birthsing..

Suggestion: racial bonuses and only racial bonuses going over 100 cap on skill. So that bosmers truly are the best archers..

I'd really like to know if the new construction set has the ability to give a race's males and females different facial textures?

(Assuming I'm Talking to Mr. Howard)
  • In your previous interviews you stated/said that dragons can talk. In that case, will there be dialogues between the player and the dragon? ...With 'essential' dragons, perhaps?
  • Will the Finishing moves feature loss of limbs, such as beheadings etc.?
  • When lock-picking, mixing potions, persuading etc. will it stop time like in previous games, or will the ‘problem’ be solved with a new, ground-breaking system?
  • How exactly will combining spells stand out from regular conjured spells? Will combining spells have significant animations, effects and/or similar elements to it that you can tell us about?
  • Will Smithing introduce new weapons to the game or just customizations? And if you don’t mind, how will the Smithing menu/system be like? Can you give us any hints?
  • Can you tell us a bit more about puzzles in dungeons? How will they be like, and will they be challenging to overcome?

1). Will a high alchemy skill be required for collecting certain rare/powerful ingredients? (i.e. no spam collecting everything in sight) Will different ingredients impart different levels of effect on your potions, i.e. a potion made from "Mountainbreath Leaves" giving a higher fatigue regeneration than one made from bread and corn?

2). Will housing be more involved and quest driven ala Morrowind or will they just be gold sinks like in Oblivion? Will you be able to own/operate shops and crafting stations?

3). Will all perks be viewable from the start? Will they all be hidden and left for the player to discover as they progress? Some combination of the two?

4). How will carrying capacity work with the removal of Strength?

5). Will faction ranks carry any meaning/privileges aside from opening up more quests?

6). Will repairing armor be improved? It's a bit silly to spam hammers on your gear in the middle of the woods.

7). Will there be set recipes for crafting (smithing, woodcutting, cooking, etc) or is it more of an experimental thing like alchemy?

:celebration: I like these interviews :celebration:

  • will 'dispose of corpse' from Morrowind make a return?
  • can we sweet talk the opposite six? (looking at that gorgeous bar wench :hubbahubba: )
  • can we give gifts to other npcs? (the witcher way) to increase disposition?

In oblivion, becoming the gray fox, the arch mage, or the listener of the dark brotherhood, everything stopped for those guilds.....will becoming the leader of a guild actually feel like you are leading something in skyrim if you can become the leader of a skyrim guild?
