I'm annoyed that this isn't a good game for sniping

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 6:43 am

This still bugs me. This is a very mobile game - people don't sit still. This game just screams close combat. So when I don the DSG-1 it bugs me that it's hard to get a decent shot. This isn't Gears of War or Battlefield: BC2, this is Crysis 2 which is a totally different experience and snipers doesn't fit the equation.

I do very good with Proximity Alarm, Visor Enhance, and with either Rapid Fire(the Majestic as a secondary with rapid fire is amazing), Weapon Pro, or Loadout Pro. Getting the modules to tier 2 and 3 helped dramaticaly. Plan on using a secondary to even the score. It's very hard to have a great game with the sniper alone.

I can't help finding this complaint funny. So you're basically saying that this would be a better game if people sit still more?

Well, actually neither can I help despising sniping.

Depending on the maps, I pick to play as sniper and pretty decent with it, Modules to use : Aim Enhance III, Visor Enhance III and Proximity Alarm III.

I played with DSG-1 alot. Now I like using Gauss (drains all energy and more damage per round) but it has slower firing rate. I like the sound effect of the Gauss, feels awesome when punching in that round into your opponent!

It takes a while to get used to of the aiming system in Crysis 2, it is not very responsive as other games so try practicing shot with (network lag) to pull sick shots.

And have someone to spot targets for you, makes it a lot more fun. Hit me up if you want to go do some crazy sniper-spot team duo.

Cheers and have fun in C2

I never said that the game would be better if they were still did I?

I said sniping is hard because they're never still. I didn't say what should be done (if anything).

I will add you then. I need a good ally plus using the visor and letting someone pick people off is fun.

I use Vision Enhance lll, Loadout Pro and Treat Tracer ll - good to know where other snipers who are shooting at me are.

But isn't sniping mobile targets supposed to be hard? Isn't that the challenge and reward for pulling off tough shots. If you're going to park across a map and pick people off they shouldn't stand still for you to do it. I don't know of any other console game where everyone stands around waiting to be sniped either.

Are you kidding me? I find the sniping in this game to be very balanced...I do well with the DSG-1...on sniping maps like 'lighthouse' and 'downbird' I do extremely well and rack up a good K/D ratio. Thats what makes me enjoy this game...sometimes I run and gun and sometimes I take it slow and sit back and camp. That's how well this game is balanced.

Sniping IS supposed to be hard. Its harder yet in this game because parking is so damn risky. Plus, people come for vengance after they see the killcam. Still, there are few game elements more gratifying than leading a far-off running target and getting exactly the shot you intended when you squeezed.

Another thing-- that table that shows the weapon damage multipliers (if i read it right) seems to indicate no penalty for a suppressor on the DSG-1 , but I'd swear I'm deadlier without one.

im sure it reduces the fire rate and increases the kickback, and yes it defo feels better without it.

Really YOU can snipe in this game. But you got to be good at it and know when to snipe or pull out the fistol(fist+pistol). Crash site is a great mode for sniping. But got to move a lot and be willing to change locations. If you hate sniping. You do not know how this game works.

If you're having trouble with snipers then put on the red dot, add Rapid Fire Pro and start going mobile on maps.
